I totally agree. Lee Hazelwood’s profound voice made it in this song.

I usually like covers.  This one is OK but weak compared to other versions.

First time I've heard this. I found myself waiting for the male voice to join in—unconsciously evoking the Sinatra/Hazelwood version. The mind plays tricks on the ear.

Not a very good version of a very evocative song.
Unfortunately it adds nothing to the original (well, I've only heard the version with Nancy Sinatra - according to Wikipedia, Lee Hazlewood sang it with some called Suzi Jane Hokum prior to that version).

Edit - I've listened to the original, it's as good as the version with Nancy Sinatra.  Those two would have an '8' from me - this version gets a '4', and that's mostly because it's an intrinsically good song.
