I had the same thought, till I read that it was actually Paul McCartney kicking the drums in this song.

After the segue from "Through the Veil", you can really notice the use of drone on the guitars.

The Stones are nothing like the Beatles and comparisons between the two are for the dimwitted.  Such comparisons are for folks who live on stereotypes and cliches.

The great deal of respect that each of them had for the other is proof that picking one over the other is a pointless exercise.

The beauty of it all is that they BOTH exist.  Those that get to appreciate them both are the true winners.

There have been times when I wished I had a trailer to live in. I've also met some good people on the fringes of civilization. Just sayin'.

I've loved this song since I first heard it.

Isn't that Donovan, Mia Farrow, Mary Anne Faithful, Peter Asher in that group. Where's Ringo?

I agree - it's probably one of those thoughts, and not likely to be: "I really need to get another shirt like that".  Of course it could also be "Who the f**k invited Mike Love, anyhow?"

Agreed.

Fark.com (my other favorite website) had a "what would you do if you were 15 again but knew what you know now?" thread and all I could think of was kill Mark David Chapman. I honestly don't think I could do it, as much as I despise that waste of skin, but I would try and raise money to pay someone else to do it.

I might buy some Microsoft stock...

i still have a hard time comprehending the fact that they produced the catalog they did in the time span they did.  in just 7 or 8 years they changed music forever and produced scores of timeless and forever famous songs.

they were simply the best ever.  there's no one even close.

wow this is my theme song
was composed during a trip to India, by John and is a song that speaks directly to Mia Farrow's sister, Prudence, who was with the group during their stay with the Maharishi ... Prudence was so depressed and did not leave her cabin, then John would sing to the door to get out ✟ ♥

Who wouldn't be depressed holed up in India with the Beatles and Mike Love of the Beach Boys, Donovan, etc.
What a complete DRAG.
