I don't always listen to a meandering guitar solo, but when I do, it's Dickey Betts.

Wore out & had to buy multiple copies of all that plus of course the vinyl.  And everything from their first album through Brothers & Sisters.  Started a rock & roll band in 1972 - bass player - and the first song we attempted was Whipping Post. Lordy that was a badass bass line for a 19-year-old that had played bass for all of 2 months.

That wasn't at the old Music Carnavel in the tent by the race track was it ?

500 people in a tent done in the round.

I was at that show !

There is quite a side story to that show.

They were late getting there.  They were pulled over and had everything tossed on the road looking for weed.  This was shortly after their first big bust on the road.  They grumbled about how ridiculous things were and said they would make up to us for being so late and did, one hell of a freaking good show.  I was the only one with my friends who even knew who they were.  Instant converts for life.  Third show for me.
