BTW... this song is as old as I am!!! probably that's the reason why I like it!!! what a great year 1971 it was!!

Keep trying.  Many see it as his best work.  Although, all the drugs in the studio at the time apparently made  for some cacophonous moments.

I could listen to that pile of guitars thrumming in the background darn near forever, so no problem there.

That said, I find this song never ending, kinda like inspiration for the Allman Brothers and their endless jams. Not my favorite Clapton song by far.

This was one of my top 5 albums back in the early 70's. Always nice to hear something from it. Duane Allman kicks on this album.

How can anyone feel anything but happy hearing this song? I disagree with the comment below, I agree with the others that this was definitely Clapton at his peak. Yeah, he's done some great stuff since then but nothing as consistently good as this record. Come on, how do you beat the pairing of he and Duane Allman? Nope, yain't gonna convince me otherwise.

All these comments about this being a "peak" for Clapton.

Sure, it's a v.good track, and the album was a peak in his career, bit not the peak. He had many peaks and there are still more to come, God willing.

Love this song. Love the message and the superior playing of Duane and Eric. It amazes me to this day that when this record came out, the critics panned it. Slap the fools!
