This version is very good. Maybe better than studio, but that's only bacause of my penchant for live music. Imagine being there, that's all I'm saying...

I'm afraid I must vehemently disagree with you stingray .How in Gods name can you say that this version is lame. This Live Album I have listened to intently in my car and I cannot find one error on all the tracks on this double album, I was quite suprised as surely there must be something there, but no and in my opinion far out shines the studio version. Proffesssionalism from start to finish and obviously well rehearsed.

I've had nights where I lay awake with insomnia - literally can't get to sleep - and this song will drift in and out of my head with a Cheshire Cat-like persistence. Other times I've been sick with some ailment and in my feverish half-sleep this song will drown out all other sounds or thoughts. If I had a time machine, and believe me this is in no way hyperbolic, if I had a time machine the first thing I'd do is go back in time and find a way to keep the BoDeans from ever forming as a band.

But you're thinking, "Wouldn't you go back in time and stop Hitler or Pol Pot or someone like that?" No I wouldn't, because I'd have a time machine silly. I could go back in time AFTER stopping the BoDeans from forming.

That's right, I've thought this through.

Yes I'm sure it would be far better if the harmonies didn't harmonize.

This song is good the first time you hear it or for the first few seconds...
after that it gets redundant very fast.

I was excited about seeing these guys next month (for the 3rd time) but then I read they broke up and there is only one remaining original member (Kurt Neumann).

"On August 18th, Llanas officially left the band due to "differences of opinion" that had been "going on for years", according to Neumann. His departure was also related to his rekindled solo career, with a new solo album titled 4 A.M. having been announced one day after Indigo Dreams was released. The band stated that they will continue on without him with the addition of new member Jake Owen."

Too bad........they had a good run!

throw in some terms from classic hits: 'little runaway' and 'fade away'
so one thinks it's familiar, and voila...

I don't know why, but I just don't.  I am not being facetious, I really don't understand it... it seems like a song I should like.  I try to like it.  In the end I always return to a general dislike.  Oh well, at least I tried.

At the beginning, I love that one person trying to start the "clap-along" but it completely dies out after no one else joins in! That's about the only enjoyable bit I get out of this song, sorry to say.

Did anybody see their show at Miller Park last Sat. as part of the Farm Aid benefit?  I'm curious as to how that went over, as it looked like they didn't have that familiar crowd love they normally get from the 'XRT faithful around here.

OH, if I were you, I'd get "Joe Dirt Car," a double live CD. It captures the very best of these guys - the humor, the mistakes, the throat-clearing, the silly asides, the profanity... There's an achingly beautiful rendition of "You Don't Get Much" that just makes me cry everytime I listen to it. Once you listen to "Joe Dirt Car," you can pretty much pick up anything of theirs and hear studio versions of favorite songs. I can't remember which CD it is, but a rollicking, riotous fun song on it is "Good Work," complete with a yell of "Fire in the hole!" and an explosion that breaks glass. Great stuff. Enjoy! Meanwhile, I like this song, but they have much better ones that showcase their voices. I remember listening to Mark and Brian at work one day, and they asked one of their sound technicians (or somebody - it's been a LONG time!) what his favorite romantic song was, and he cited "Naked," by BoDeans. I actually applauded in glee! Co-workers called the guys in the rubber truck, but I eluded them by taking the broken elevator down to the basement parking lot (the "OUT OF ORDER" sign was put there by an IP tech I know, so he could have unimpeded access to the whole building) where I climbed up the embankment, blended in with a group of lunchtimers, and made a clean getaway.
