Melinda was mine
'Til the time that I found her
Holdin' Jim
And lovin' him
Then Sue came along
Loved me strong, that's what I thought
Me and Sue
That died, too

Don't know that I will
But until I can find me
A girl who'll stay
And won't play games behind me
Then I'll be what I am
A solitary man
Solitary man

I've had it to here
Bein' where love's a small word
Part-time thing
Paper ring
I know it's been done
Havin' one girl who loves you
Right or wrong
Weak or strong

Don't know that I will
But until I can find me
A girl who'll stay
And won't play games behind me
I'll be what I am
A solitary man
Solitary man

Don't know that I will
But until I can find me
A girl who'll stay
And won't play games behind me
Then I'll be what I am
A solitary man
Solitary man
Solitary man
Solitary man

Outstanding songwriter, right there. Say what ya will but "I'm A Believer".

Ha! OK then, mow 'bout some Monkees?

Love me some Chris Issac but Neil's original can't be beat!
That's some smelly cheese, but I love it!
I you can't get any joy from this, well, you're just no fun.
Outstanding songwriter, right there. Say what ya will but "I'm A Believer".
Say what you want, the man made music that sold like Big Macs.  The orchestration (horns, guitars, strings) is well done, too.

A truly guilty pleasure, 10.

Chris Isaac does an outstanding job, but this is still the best version, period, end  of  story.

All the way to Beautiful Noise

{#High-five}

I really like Beautiful Noise.
An all time favorite of mine..excellent use of the horns
Into the once-a-month rotation after a nine (ten?) year break...OK!

This guy is a genius. Refer to Velvet Gloves and Spit, Taproot Manuscript, and Jonathan Livingston Seagull. Amazing records.

even in the middle of my early 70's hard rockin' and prog lovin' and jazz fusion passion I still liked Neil Diamond, right up till he went kinda Vegas

..... me to although Mr Diamonds version is good
Talk about a guy who's gotten it from all sides and survived on his talent and grit.
{#Drummer}  Ah, saw ND do this live in Auckland, NZ...wait for it.....19...9,8,7.....yes 7...75!!
I wasn't yet 18 and may not have gone as ND wasn't really my taste back then..lucky I was with a friend with more music savy than me!

This is the best song Neil ever recorded. I am wondering who's next in the Neil theme.
Hot August Night is not too bad. But agree though, this one is a nice chestnut.
