And from what I have heard Zuckerberg is budgeting $500 million all by himself for 2024.

This election will be determined by algorithms, A I, and turnout.  It is hard to believe that most minds are not already made up.  It will be about fear and emotion to drive the voters off the couch; out of apathy and do something.

Biden will get 100 million votes to Trump's 80 million.

Yeah, right.

What party again is the home of antisemitism in this country ?  It sure ain't the republicans.

Want autocrats ?  You want Biden & Co. to be sure.  You want to be ruled by unelected bureaucrats, not Congress.

Oh and Biden just lambasted China with Trump style tariffs.

Everyone here went nutz over Trump for his tariffs.  Let's see what you all do now with Joe's.

Polling is an interesting process to me, exactly for the reason you point out.

My unscientific analysis of your comment on 2016 is that the MAGA voters were in hiding.  They knew then that Trump was all the things we know he is now, but to them, the choice was better than another Clinton.  They weren't necessarily going to admit that out loud... but they voted that way.

Fast forward to this year, and the MAGAverse wears anarchy as a badge of honor.  A red MAGA hat may as well be a swastika. They not only aren't embarrassed, but they go out of their way to demonstrate fealty.   They want to be polled.  They answer the phone when it rings.

Now, the left is begrudgingly supportive of Biden.  Every non-Trump voter wishes something would happen before the convention, but if it doesn't, in November, they will vote Biden in defense of democracy.  The autocrat will be defeated quietly.  No need to telegraph the plan just in case Trump wins, but the majority will show up against Trump (in PA and MI and WI), the very same way they showed up against Hillary.

It is also my home state.  I'm a second gen native, the wife is a fifth gen native.

It has been ruined beyond repair, imo.  Give it back to Spain.  Even better, Russia.  They had a foothold there, too.

The gipper was from Illinois ...

Those IOUs are mostly what's called Treasury notes, bills or bonds. They are some of the safest securities ever. You probably have some. If you do and are really concerned, I'll buy them all from you today at 9% discount. Let me know.

Careful what you wish for. CA & NY account for over 22% of the entire US gross domestic product. Good luck without that.

Well, when it started out, it was more of a safety net than a retirement entitlement benefit...and most people only lived a few years, right?
But of course, the funds going into SS have been raided by congress to fund other programs for decades.
Too late to solve that problem, $ is gone, spent on guns, roads, benefits of others...
Could cut the benefit, extend the age requirement or other means.
