Ouch.  That song was painfully hokey.  It's like when you try one of those new Starbucks drinks on the off chance it contains caffeine, but it turns out it's an an inducment to ingest five kinds of sugar.
I have never heard of or seen this record. For this reason I am impressed with RP once again!

I sincerely doubt that. They were fated to meet and collaborate together.   One was just as creative as the other together.   FYI, I wasn't crazy about Lennon's or McCarntney's solo trips.   The complimentary factor was missing.   One seems an airhead, the other a tortured soul.   How much could you take of either?  I was neither.   I didn't relate. They both went their separate ways, one "back to the land", the other became a NYC denizen. Both individual trips were very valid.  IMO, best solo, memorable effort by Lennon was "Imagine".   Best solo effort by McCartney was "Maybe I'm Amazed. "  Paul, I'm told, gives a helluva concert, to this day.   This is my humble opinion.

Well put.

Nnnnnoooooo.  Nnnnnnoooooo.

Wonderful bass lines in this song.
Holy crap this is awful.

Very interesting.  The RP-listener average rating for this song is less than flattering but McCartney fans are very supportive and very defensive of any criticism of their guy, as evidenced by the plethora of such comments here. I don't begrudge anyone his / her opinion.  I've got to agree that this song is "bloody horrible" but to say that Paul was lost without Lennon is simply not true.

comparing this pos to what Lennon was doing with Plastic Ono and his other solo stuff at the time...............a chasm.

Yes, let's hear more from RAM! For example - Uncle Albert-Admiral Halsey is in the RP library but it has never been played.

It seems to me that Paul and John were like nitro and glycerin creatively.  On his own, Paul was just glycerin - kind of sticky sweet.  I actually preferred Ringo after the break up.

Interestingly, my wife and I are expecting our first child (a girl) in a few months, and this was the first Beatles/solo-Beatle song I chose to sing to her.  I love its gentle, whimsical quality, and as we are leaving a Colorado location for Massachusetts, and I hope to return one day, I thought this would impart my wishes.  Ram is my favorite solo Paul album as well...

I like it....always have, even tho' Paul was dead.

Paul only writes ditties.

Some of Macca's solo stuff —- Band on the Run, Venus and Mars, a few other tracks from some of the early solo albums —- was brilliant.

Not sure about this one, though.

I really love listening to Paul & Linda.
Who of them is singing?
Ho Hum is exactly right for this song. And that's the very best it gets from Sir Paul.

Thanks for this song and the diversity it represents. But IMHO there's better tunes on this album...so I'll just Smile Away.
From someone that lives in the heart of the country, love this song, it's happy, it's rollicking, it's sweet and the guitar work and Sir Paul's intonation is perfect.

The play list on my page says this is "Heart of the Count" Seems appropriate.

After reading all of the posts,I must add mine. Ram is a great (lost) album as some would put it. I have all of John L. and Paul Mc. post Beatles CD's. I know Paul has alot more material out than John. But IMO Paul's stuff is far better than John's. However Paul surounded himself with alot of talanted musicians and I'm not talken about Linda. John mostly recorded sole except for some of that Yoko screeching. I now need to work on my George H. collection. With what I have now I would say that Cloud 9 is his best, but then I'm not sure about that, perhaps too much of a Jeff Lynn influence there. I have heard it all but it has been a while.I need to give all of George's stuff a revisit.

Reports are he's been seen with the Guiness Brewing heiress(?). And before anyone mentions the poster, the lady is much prettier than Bodington's daughter. https://www.aber.ac.uk/media/Students/Images/mvs5-01.jpg
This sounds so corny. Like something off Lawrence Welk.
Ouch
I haven't heard this song for quite a while and it reminded me of what a fine musician McCartney is. Classy guitar work.
Gimme some 'cherries'.
RAM was the last decent album Paul recorded. It was all downhill from there.
This sounds like it belongs on a 'Schoolhouse Rock' album. Which is not a bad thing in and of itself, just... I don't know... a little TOO nostalgic.
i cant say that i think much of this song, but Long Haired Lady, also from this album is one of my favorites. cant remember ever hearing it on rp though.

I agree. His first couple solo efforts were his best.

Sorry Sir Paul. You just don't do it for me. Never did.
One of the reasons I moved to a home in the country, back then...
Excellent song from an almost forgotten Paul album. Had this on casette in the 70's. Used to listen to it almost every night. Thanks, Bill.

My sentiments exactly.
This is the song of my childhood, thanks!
Love this song!!
Yes, a nice surprise to hear this... I grew up on this album - 3 Legs and Too Many People were my favorites.
Bill, you're outdoing yourself with the forgotten nostalgia-makers tonight. This is the first album I ever owned. My parents bought it for me for my eighth birthday. What I wouldn't give to have that vinyl today.
I do like it more than I used to.
Surprised to hear this.....its so "Paul"
Hey, it was hard to beat Too Many People. It still sounds good to me today. I even get a kick out of Admiral Halsey, though it was burned-out on the radio at the time... I had this crazy friend named Larry K who got his hands on this and then was into playing, singing, humming and whistling this song for an entire weekend that I spent with his family, and I was sick of it for years as a result, but it sure was cool to hear it on RP for the first time in maybe 33 years or so!
Always liked this album. Light, clean despite the sheep, and not over-produced.

Imagine someone fresh outta the Beatles, looking to distance himself. At the time, folks thought this was crap, I bet. In retrospect, it's light and fun and fine. I love love love this period of Paul.
there's really no need to compare John and Paul. they're different musicians who appeal to different moods/needs/senses. Sometimes, you just need a bit of Paul... I love RAM! Give us more RAM! (please.)
