You've got your ball
You've got your chain
Tied to me tight tie me up again
Who's got their claws
In you my friend
Into your heart I'll beat again
Sweet like candy to my soul
Sweet you rock
And sweet you roll
Lost for you I'm so lost for you
You come crash into me
And I come into you,
I come into you
In a boy's dream
In a boy's dream

Touch your lips just so I know
In your eyes, love, it glows so
I'm bare-boned and crazy for you
When you come crash
Into me, baby
And I come into you
In a boys dream
In a boys dream

If I've gone overboard
Then I'm begging you
To forgive me
In my haste
When I'm holding you so girl
Close to me

Oh and you come crash
Into me, baby
And I come into you

Hike up your skirt a little more
And show the world to me
Hike up your skirt a little more
And show your world to me
In a boy's dream
In a boy's dream

Oh I watch you there
Through the window
And I stare at you
You wear nothing but you
Wear it so well
Tied up and twisted,
The way I'd like to be
For you, for me, come crash
Into me,
Crash into me
Crash into me
Crash into me
Crash into me

I'm the king of the castle
You're the dirty rascal
Crash into me
Oh see you crash into me baby,
'Cause I am swimming in your seas
And in your ocean
And I feel your waves come and crash into me
Oh, yes, I see the waves come and crash into me
Oh, yes, I feel the waves come and crash into me

You're so lucky.
Here in Germany I wish that would be played on FM radio.

I can't take much DMB, to be honest.  It reminds me of all the bland radio fare of 1996-1997.  It was like a neverending rotation of this, Hootie, Building A Mystery, and Lovefool.

Whatever happened to Hootie & The Blowfish anyway?  Back in 1996 all the stations seemed to be convinced they were the next coming of Pink Floyd or something, then by the 2000s they were never played anymore, like at all.

"Hootie," Darrius, went Country And Western. He's not bad at it, but for me, that's a low bar.

Everytime a DMB gets played I imagine Bill laughing reading the hateful comments...
This guy can't sound like this when he talks, does he?
Love this song, never gets old. Carter Beauford is a monster drummer, even on a song like this.
I saw Boyd Tinsley play in the basement of a fraternity house in about 1989.  Been a fan ever since.

Agreed - a 9 for me as well.

My mind is instantly taken back to when I saw them live in the Woodlands (north of Houston). The girl I was with whom I should have tried a little harder to be more than friends, the great opening act (Meshell Ndegeocello), and walking to the men's room past the 20min line to the women's room (hah!)

The hands of the clock
Drip their message of the ever present
And send glorious thought behind to the
Ever growing pool of memory past
This is a good song despite of his overall irritating quality. 8

I think your post says a lot more about you than you realise.
Hot & Nasty!
Lyrics need some work for them to work in my small world.

damn, missed it...
I love this song!
Wasn't another version of this just played yesterday? Neither does it for me.
These are some dreadful lyrics...

I'm sorry, I just can't get into this guy. Every one of his songs is the same with that high pitched, whiny voice.
Then Chunder on Alpine and throw in a Technicolour Yawn while your at it whilst the rest of us sit back and enjoy.....

Can't stand his music... PSD...
Ah, Seattle. Mid-'90s. Boats. Microbrews. Kind buds. Bicycles. Rain drops. Evergreens. Puget Sound sand. Rock-n-Roll. Those were the days.
I'm sorry, I just can't get into this guy. Every one of his songs is the same with that high pitched, whiny voice.
great song
I too, despite not being much of a DMB listener, have a whole lot of nostalgia and emotion wrapped up this song. Funny how many of us there are here on the list. :)
Preferably in a big truck.

I just saw the DVD of DM and Tim Reynolds at Radio City Music Hall. It was very good. Check it out if you get the chance. Also read the liner notes. That'll break your heart.
....still.......

7 - Soley for the emotional content. Some songs just kick you in the gut, and for me this is one of them. In fact a lot of DMB does the same. However, on it's musical merits - not so good. -dave
I couldn't agree more...though I gave it an 8 because I can't separate my emotions from this song...
Seems like a severe case of love it or hate it. I'm surprised that no one gave it a 4 or a 5 given the average rating. I gave it a 7, but that's my standard rating for anything I can sing along to that isn't obnoxiously repetitive.
This song makes my head hurt so badly that it is hard to determine which aspect of this song is more excruciating: the awful atonal whining (and I usually like atonal whining (e.g., Neil Young)) or the horrendously off-beat beats (esp., "crash . . . in-to-me . yeah"). Horrid!

A steaming heap.

Absolutley!!!

I second that! I just turned it up and was singing along...
His voice doth Crash into my head.

apparently not as timeless as i thought it was in middle school.

Had to give this one a five. The score is more for RP than for the tune. Good tune, but I can hear this anywhere on the radio dial. I listen to RP to hear stuff that doesn't get airplay other places.

But it hurts soooooooooooooo good. (And, yes I love this song!)
After I heard this song I bought all of their CDs. One of the best bands EVER!

MAYBE THE FIRST 30 TIMES! PLEASE NO MORE!
Maybe, there will be a time when the overplay of this song on mainstream radio will have faded and it will become a nice memory from the past, maybe.
This darn song is slowly growing on me, but for the most part I don\'t understand the attraction to DMB. I sorta liked them for awhile, till I got one of their CD\'s and actually listened to it. Musically they\'re decent, but I don\'t like Dave. His voice bothers me, and I\'m not sure about his lyrics.
This seems to be a band that\'s got the sort of following who love them anyway. But a real good band is also able to attract people who aren\'t necessarily fans, like me. And there\'s little I found really attractive about Dave Matthews\' songs \'till now. His and the band\'s great musical abilities doesn\'t mean they make dito songs.
