These streets all know me the shadows whisper
Tonight keeps looking back at me with neon eyes
And if they've seen you they're not talking
You think by now maybe they'd sympathize
Out in the rain I keep on walking
Out in the rain like the brokenhearted do
I could be wrong but that's where you'll find me
Out in the rain just looking for you
The sky is cryin the wind's against me
Blows like some fugitive with no place left to hide
I'm down to nothing but just this heartache
That I keep carrying around inside
Out in the rain
I take no comfort in my companion
The rain just coming down now wild and uncontrolled
Don't try to stop me you best take shelter
Tonight the sky will not be consoled

The Nashville Sound .... gets old fast !
Bob Dylan did a bad thing to Britney Spears... and then THIS VOICE came to Earth...
you nailed it
plus, i'm in love!
Couldn't agree more about the grating vocals.  It's like Cyndi Lauper and Tom Petty had a kid.
Nice song, grating vocals.
PSD>> got me The Beatles: I Want You (She's So Heavy).  Crikey what a splendid turnaround!
Oh my, bad voice...bad voice...bad voice!  Is she doing that on purpose?
Oh dear... not very nice at all, this nasal hard sound. Had to turn it off.

I like your diagnosis, Doctor.
I'm afraid I'll have to join the club of people who cannot stand her voice.
And the hits just keep comin on Country 101 partner.

12 Years and they still haven't let go.....

Erm.  My ears don't like that voice on this track.  Not at all.  Followed by Jenny Lewis this set is not ideal for me.  Just me, though, obviously, so who cares.
The Smurfs are out to get us! Aaaa! :)
First time i have to say, that i leave this station for today, hoping tomorrow there is the old team for giving us this extraordanary music!
omg. so nasal! noooo. make it stop.
Gwen Stefani's country breakout hit!
Once in awhile I like this sound. Sam Phillips turned a notch more toward country. Not sure I could last a full concert, but as a dot on the RP landscape, not unpleasant.

I love Buddy, and all his side projects. But Julie... to me she's in a class with this other alt.country chick named Kasey Chambers. Grown women who affect little girl voices when they sing just unnerve me. Sorry, just my take. {#Whistle}

more rain. you're gonna have a real problem if it snows. :iamwith:
Wow, whine much?
I detect a Sam Phillips thing there....

4 out of the last 5 songs played have had Rain in the title - could Patty Griffin be up next? :-) I like it when there's a spot the connection in the playlist!
Wow Brilliant!!!

Sam Phillips and Robert Earl Keen's twangy love-child. Cool enough.
Bonus points for having a really odd facial expression picture on the CD cover.
Not heard her before but this is quite good. Would definitely like to hear more.
No doubt about the Kasey Chambers sound. But that doesn't make it bad. I agree with several that mention that genre of Steve Earle etc. that is refreshing. Most I wouldn't want to listen to all day (except maybe Steve), but that's what RP is about... Play again please.
It's got that Tom Petty feel to it. I've never heard of her before this but I think I like her.
So glad to hear Julie Miller getting her fair share of air time. Buddy's good too, but Julie's voice is so sweet and plaintive. And their harmonies just soar.
I bought this CD when it first came out because I am a ridiculous Patty Griffin fan and she sings backup on one of the really beautiful tracks, "I Still Cry". I am soooo happy I bought this one. It's a fantastic album through and through. Thanks for playing it!
I\'d rather be out in the rain than listening to Julie Miller.
Julie and Buddy Miller are awesome. Thanks for playing this, Bill. Re Kasey Chambers: She\'s wonderful as well and has clearly worshipped at the altar of JM. In fact Julie & Buddy are all over \"The Captain\". Add Kasey to the \"swirl\" mentioned by a previous poster. Big mistake to pigeonhole this music as \"country\"--it has much more going for it than any single genre ghetto can convey. More of the Swirl, please...
I can\'t believe I only gave them a 9. A mistake I can correct. :)
I love this song, I love the CD. Julie and Buddy together on stage are awseome. I saw them open for Steve Earle in Vancouver a while back. They rocked :)
This last set represents this soggy week.
thought it was kasey chambers for a sec, speaking of....how come we don't hear any kasey chambers? do i need to upload more than just the captain?
it is good! and i like it!
Another CD purchase because of RP. I love the whole thing. Lots of different tunes. It was worth the $$ I spent.
Dot moves to a trailer park. i dig this. Dot
This is just plain good. A must have. (as well as Kasey Chambers, especially her first) Thanks again RP.
Yeah she\'s countryfried. I like that a lot sometimes. Cool thing is that there is a swirl of folks like Emmy Lou, Julie\'s husband Buddy, Steve Earle, Patty Griffin, and so on that are helping each other turn out rich textural adult music that rocks up one side and down the other. It seems to be expanding. I love it when community happens. Gary Starkweather
I like it...more please.
Much too whiney!! I can\'t sing either, maybe I should have gone for a musical career too - she certainly did! :D
I think this song is just great. I agree -- Tom Pettyish feel.

Her voice isn't nearly whiney enough to be mistaken for Cartman, but that's just my opinion. :)
If you like this then Kasey Chambers will knock your socks off!
i like her voice.
I hate to complain, but her voice is annoying. It could drive a man to suicide
I like it. I think it\'s good to have songs with a little country edge in the mix. :D
