Don't feel like home
He's a little out
And all these words alone
Is nothing like your poem

Putting in, inputting in
Don't feel like methadone
A scratching voice all alone
It's nothing like your baritone

It's nothing as it seems
The little that he needs, it's home
The little that he sees
Is nothing he can seize, it's home

One uninviting chromosome
A blanket like the ozone

It's nothing as it seems
All that he needs is home
The little that he frees
Is nothing he believes

Saving it for a sunny day
Something maybe, two tone
Anything of his own
A chip off the corner stone

Who's kidding? Rainy day
A one way ticket headstone
An occupation's overthrown
A whisper through a megaphone

It's nothing as it seems
The little that he needs, it's home
The little that he sees
Is nothing he concedes, it's home

And all that he frees
A little bittersweet, it's home
It's nothing as it seems
The little that he sees, it's home

One of the most influential bands ever.
Not usually a PJ fan but this song does it for me and is a solid 9!

This song is perfect for filing my fingernails to...  (I mean that in a GOOD way!)  It's very pensive and plodding - almost Zen-like.  I need that when I'm filing my nails because I get frustrated so easily. My nails are pretty jagged and ugly (like my temper and my sense of humor), but for maybe the first time since I started trying to resemble a lady and not some kind of cave-troll that burrows in the dirt, I did a pretty respectable job of getting my hands to look almost civilized.

I shall forever be grateful to Pearl Jam for this. {#Notworthy}

Wow,  hadnt heard this PJ before.
The more I hear this in FLAC  w/ great studio phones, amp & DAC, the more I love it!!!

You need to stay with with your own music then.

Damn! Making me love PJ! Yeah I liked the usual fare back in my goth/grunge flannel shirt and Doc Marten days (the FIRST time they were in style..) but never fully connected with the early albums I owned other than the obvious songs.

THIS is like Radiohead, Pink Floyd, and Portishead...but with his EV deliciousness. Thank you Bill! You never disappoint!

Side note - The beautifully crafted and directed Into the Wild  absolutely would not be the same without Eddie's soundtrack. ALTHOUGH, the best song was written by local Bay Area songwriter and artist Jerry Hannan. :)
my favourite  song.. 9/10
Never heard this before now. Like Joe Bonomassa jamming with Portishead. Diggin' it.

Listen to this song as you drive down an endless road to nowhere and you feel the lyrics.

Thanks Jeff A for those and Mick McC for the lovely guitar.
Killer record.
Album art makes me want to make some guacamole . . .

Ed w/ Kobain in mind!
Or did Ament write these lyrics?
I would just have tuned that snare differently.
Not generally a fan of PJ, but this is most likable.  The guitar work kicks butt.  Kind of built to spillish

Awesome tune. Awesome band.
most excellent
Awesome CD and nebula.
Better lay off the ludes dude.
This is wonderful.  Surprisingly low rating, to my ears.

ps just upped it to a 10 to compensate, but it made no difference.

Trolling down the comments ALWAYs reveals gold!   Peace
Binaural is the best work Pearl Jam has created, they took a risk and perhaps paid for it.   "Nothing As It Seems" and "Of the Girl" - spectacular!

Somewhat a-tonal and rather dull. It does have a bit of atmosphere...but mostly of what I mentioned.

BTW:  lemmoth, you misspelled sirdroseph's name - was that intentional, or does "lack of credibility" not apply to dyslexics?  And sirdroseph - I find your "suck balls" expression a bit offensive. Couldn't you change it to something like "slobber on testicles"?

One of the unlistenable songs from PJ.
Great song from a great band!
I'm raising this form a 3 to a 4 because it's divisible by 2.
Loving this rockin' set!....Now Hendrix....awesome

Your comment is not completely inappropriate, i think it is pertinent to note because some atmosphere loudness P. Floyd, especially in the evolution of guitar chords similar of solo-P.Floyd/Guilmour (but not exactly the song Shine On You).
But if there is indeed any influence of P. Floyd, only P. Jam will can makes clear when they worked on this song.....and if so, this only enhances the music of P. Jam, i think.

Big fan of soaring guitars, but this is just a bit going nowhere for me.

Of course: the acoustic strumming with the intense soaring electric guitar, tight drumming, hypnotic base, spacey effects, heavy lyrics...
People can say what they want, but this is what I call a tight outfit.
Its a pitty, i have to leave, this rotation is GREAT!!

Possibly Pearl Jam's strongest work.
