I guess we all hear different things.  The tambourine sounds fine to me and I find her singing style to be consistent the nature of the song's tempo and lyrics (and not terribly off-key).  I really wouldn't want to hear Ethel Merman belting out a song like this, regardless of her enthusiasm or pitch.

It's so interesting, I've never heard this song but knew it was Mazzy, and wondered if she came out with a new album!  So I looked and it's from 1996, that's a very long time ago, and the song sounds as fresh as anything else on the radio!  That's why I will always be a Mazzy Star fan!

I'm a fan and i like this song a lot but every time i hear Mazzy Star i just have to listen to fade into you right afterwards.  But then its never a bad thing to be reminded to go back and play yourself a classic.

so Hope Sandoval (aka Mazzy Star) is playing a show at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston... and the crowd is getting restless... it is a very dimly lit show (at the artist's request) and a lot of people were there to see Hope b/c they heard she was cute... not a shadow on stage.. so a bit into the show a quiet crowd started chit-chatting, drinking at the bar and what-not. Mazzy stopped the show and started complaining about the crowd being too loud. Someone shouted out "We love you Hope!" to which she replied: "I don't need you to love me. Just when I thought Mazzy Star was incredibly boring and repetitive, I hear this song that redeems them in my mind. Perhaps it\'s the electric guitars and drums that catch my ear.
