6.5 ? What's with that?

I know, right? I just bumped up my 7 to an 8, in an attempt to raise the rating.

I saw a comment on another track (Bowie I believe)  suggesting that his songs' ratings, and similarly other artists who are part of the "left us in 2016 club" would get an uptick simply owing to their recent death. I don't think it went over well with other commenters, probably because of a poor delivery;  I for one think there is truth in that theory. Sort of like when a painter dies and her artwork triples in price.

Anyways, RIP to all of the (crummy) club members.

6.5 ? What's with that?
RIP Leon...
Outstanding song writer, pretty easy on the ears as well...
This was released in 1999?

Cool.
Love Leon

Wow...what happens when George Clinton soaks in bleach for a bit and sings silly Randy-Newmanesque music? I think you get the idea...

Mean, but funny. {#Lol}

They've both been playing music in and around New Orleans for about the same amount of time and have probably known each other for close to fifty years.
The unmistakable piano style !
On hearing the opening chords, I was expecting something from Joe Cocker who Russell played with so often In the Magic Band.
Good stuff !

Great to hear Leon in his prime!  From an old LP? Didn't I hear the record skip?!?

It's always so good to hear Leon.  What an unmistakable voice.  First concert I ever went - Leon Russell and the Shelter People at the Nassau Coliseum back in 72 I think....
Allways put on a great concert, saw him and Freddie King one night at Armadillo. They each did a set then did one together and it was a night to remember. They were supposed to release the album but as alot of things recorded at Armadillo don't know if it was ever done. Maybe cc_Rider can shed some light on that. Antones aquired the old "Dillo" recordings me thinks

The song is cool, but what 4th grader photoshopped the album cover?
Takes me straight back to my college days. Nice to hear Leon Russell again. Sweet!

Something off of "Carny" would be nice...
I've been uploading a few gems off Carney. Check out the LRC and give them a thumbs up.

Separated at birth, they were.
Some Leon info over at my blog (early post): (click here)

Hank is back!
Dunno, it sounds like Rocky Racoon with the wrong text and a sleepy arrangement.

I'd give it a 10 for album art. But 6 for the music since, although I recognize the talent is there, it just isn't for me.
Ditto. My thoughts exactly. = )

Agree -- more Leon, please. I'd do it but all mine is vinyl. (yeah, I know, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet.)

So happy to hear Leon on RP, thank you so much! He's playing & recording tonight at The Old Lady of Brady here in T Town. What a showman he rocks the house banging on his ivorys like a manic

I was in the other room, heard this and came running. I always loved Leon. Atlanta stadium, that summer of ... 70 something. It's great to hear something new from him. In my best Oliver imitation, "Please sir, I want some more." Thanks Bill !
Mediocre since that time...
Always loved his rich grating voice it goes so well with the stonking piano and the honest to goodness blues backdrop.
