¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?
¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?

I think my baby loves me
She loves this highway too
When she needs to ramble
Nothing else that will do
What do you think, Cholita

¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?
¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?

My baby needs to ramble
She needs that open road
She'll drift from town to town
Long as she is feeling low
You know that's right, baby

¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?
She's just a sad eyed girl with a drifting heart
¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?

I think my baby's getting restless
She'll soon be gone again
She knows I'll catch up with her
Can you tell me where or when, Cholita

¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?
Yea man, that girl can be hard to find sometime
¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?

We think someday we may find
The road that'll take us on home
Then we'll all be happy
With no more need to roam
You know what I mean baby

¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?
There she goes on down the road
¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?

¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?
¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?

¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?
¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?

Maybe she went home to Memphis
She loves that Southern breeze
Or on down to Mississippi
Looking for a life of ease
I know you're out there, baby

¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?
And I'm steady on your trail
¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?

I might look down on the border
We had us some fun for awhile
That spat we had in Laredo
Things get a little too wild

¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?
She'll get rough on you, you better watch out
¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?

Some people travel for business
Others just to look around
When you're on a dark road
Your truth it can't be found

¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?
She's always got her bag packed and ready to go
¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?

Let's go down to Cuba
Hear Cuarteto Patria play
They'll enrich our hearts with a memory
We'll have for the rest of our days
Come on, baby, let's go

¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?
¿Que te parece, Cholita, que te parece?

hahaha! I thought he sang "she's always got a bad back and ready to go"!
I attended a performance from him at the Golden Bear, a small venue in Huntington Beach, California in the late 1960's. He played all blues and he was fantastic.  So odd hearing him play in this genre. Not sure if I like it. Nonetheless I'm giving him an 8 here for his, and the band's, excellence.
Anybody who played harp for Muddy Waters and used to go whoring with Otis Spann is okay in my books. Long live Charlie Musselwhite.
Although he has been around as long as Dr. John, they must have gone to the same music school.
Bill said he doesn't play the 'harmonica', he plays the 'harp'. (?) I think he plays the 'harsh'.
I like it though!
Very pesado
CUMMMBIAAAAA
Again? Heard it yesterday...
Charlie Musselwhite - YES!!!!!!!!
maybe it's my computer speakers, but the bongos are louder than any other instrument (happens whenever there are bongos)... this song is better than a previous song w/bongos; had to PSD that one.
I clicked PSD as Coldplay banged in my ear.

YES now that is what I am talking about.
lyrics?

Earcrap! Jeezis- somebody call me the Rock-N'-Roll doctor! Better make that the Rock-N'-Roll Otorhinolaryngologist!

I bet Sean Penn is grooving on stuff like this these days
Bill is grooving it this afternoon! {#Cheers}
Not bad, but I think I need to hear some Freebird after this.  Later dude...
If you think of the chorus as horns it makes more sense. Love me some CMW!
Weird.. why can't I find that song in YouTube?

Anyway, the genre of the song is Son Cubano, and you can also dance salsa on it, so I'm all for it.
This is not music, nor lyrics, just boring to the death.
"This is great!"

"This is crap!"

Must be art. (Or politics)

A blast! What fun!  {#Dancingbanana_2}
This song fills me with a sense of saudade. Thanks, RP!
no bueno

Ah, that explains it; I thought a team of mallards followed me home from the park and were hanging out in my driveway.
Story telling at its best.
Too repetitive ....

Source song, performed some time around 1950 by Pupi Campo and his band:

Hey Charlie, I am going down to Cuba - going there before the good old US of A f*** it up!!
Wow. Thanks for playing this. I heard the Cuban rhythm and singing then...Charlie Musselwhite's voice and distinctive harp playing. What a great fusion of the two styles. Definitely have to pick this one up. Don't know how I missed it back in '99.
Interesting to read what some people say.

Would Muddy Waters have taken Charlie Musselwhite in his band in the 50th if he were only average as harp player? I can't believe this. And if I listen to Charlie Musselwhite I hear an artist really knowing his instrument. Listen to his blues CD's and LP's and you will hear his knowledge of the classics, which he is one of meanwhile. That's nothing someone must like him for, but it's self disqualifying to call him mediocre.

People disliking the song or this kind of music for political reasons? Open your mind and your ears. Noone must like latin american music or everythingl of this continent, or should I say planet, of music. Like the history of blues this music has a history of love to life, dancing and struggling for freedom. So what? Pity for those who can't listen. There's good and bad music in every tradition.

"De gustibus non est disputandum." You can't discuss taste. There's music I don't like. So for me everybody has the right to dislike this song. But respect for the musicians working hard a life long over their music should be no problem imo.
What is this crap?
The background singers sound as bored of this song's excessive repetition as I am. I can just hear them thinking "Isn't this fucking thing over yet?"
if you listen to this on a very low sound, the chorus sounds like ducks quacking.
Very different for CW.  Good cut.
This Spanish flavored set of tunes, including Charlie's, is refreshing.  Thanks, RP.  {#Cowboy}

Say what you want about the American paranoia about Cuba that is left over from a bygone era when their relationship with the now-defunct USSR could have possibly caused your "democracy" some pain . . . the fact is that most Americans don't really understand Cuba and the wonderful people that live there. The fact that an offer like this would go without an answer while hundreds of people died is a testament to the bullshit ego that Bush had to hold onto just so he didn't run afoul of his father, his Vice President, and the Republican party.

It's truly sad when people can't just be people. Real lives that matter.
Not bad for background music....

Perhaps so, it is played a lot there.
Cool song!
Bad ratings because it sounds Cuban?
Anyways - in our space ship we be dancing ...

There are quite a few players now that don't get mentioned one is Rod Piazza from the west coast and he has a hell of a band, The Mighty Flyers. Another is Kim Wilson from the Fabulous Thunderbirds and the list goes on oops forgot Howlin' Wolf. That being said this isn't my favorite Musselwhite tune.

Don't forget Little Walter.

HarrO, at least no one claims that John Popper from Blues Traveler is a great harmonica player anymore. Couldn't stand his "style."

Yeah, repetitive. But then, we, being imperfect human beings, need constant reminders so we don't forget important things. I love Charlie Musselwhite. He is true to the music.

They either started different songs or started in the wrong key. I know Honeyboy through steve arvey, Honeyboy is an old school gentleman and his fret work is still great.

Charlie Musselwhite - Que Te Parece, Cholita

Magnifique Monsieur
Caca. Painfully repetitive.

This offer, and another made directly to President George Bush, went unanswered. In the catastrophe at least 1,800 people, most of them poor, died for lack of aid and treatment."

What callous indifference, what mindblowing arrogance on the part of the US government! {#Sad}

I think the facts are pretty clear. Cuba offered assistance and they were ignored. Cuba is recognised by most of the world in offering medical assistance to disadvantages countries. . . with the exception of the USA who don't seem to report it for some reason. {#Rolleyes}

Great tune btw! {#Mrgreen}

I feel like this song is played every time I tune-in to RP. I'm getting more than a little tired of the monotony of the song.
On a positive note... I like the harmonica and Charlie's Johnny Cash impersonation but sadly, that's about it.

Personally, I think that's fascinating and entirely relevant.

What "facts," by the way, are in question?
