Saw Buddy in 1992 live at a crazy place in Warsaw. Electrifying concert, crowd went mad, wonderful buzz. Thirty years later, I can still picture it all.
Some singers should never die. I've seen BG several time, felt his electric personality, voice, musicianship, and watched his antics. Long live this man and I know that many of us thank him for what he has given American music.
I detect Mavis Staples singing the backup vocals with Bonnie.
Not as good as John Hiatt's original version, but, still pretty sweet!
The John Hiatt original rated 8 for me. This is a 10.
Men’s denim coverall’s are as rare as hen’d teeth these days, it seems to me.
I see that I rated this an 8 but I don't recall. Just going to up it to a 10 and get it over with.
Never under appreciate a man in overalls playing a guitar (e.g., Lowell George).

Saw Bonnie interviews several times lately, she feels so blessed to be friends and work with these masters, complete reverence. Sweet woman and said her personal life is just great but wouldn't say anything else on that count. She sure went thru years of 3 deaths in her family. Bless her

Perhaps, but I doubt Buddy Guy plays pool in a tiny swimsuit, apparently for Tom to better display his virtuosity.I've seen Buddy Guy three different times over the years and each time it has been a fantastic show with unique moments during each of them that were probably never repeated. Live Blues music with Buddy Guy is just the best!
Buddy Guy with Bonnie Raitt is a hard combo to beat. So very nice.

I love this Buddy Guy but I would much sooner be hearing Baby Please Don't Leave Me and in fact thanks to the magic of computers I am.
Here in the cubicle zoo, sometimes the music is background to whatever you're doing. Just now I heard an unmistakable slide signature, "That's Bonnie Raitt! But who's that singing?"
I like this version better than the original. Which is unfortunately the case for many John Hiatt tunes.

Met Buddy at his 'Legends' bar in Chi-Town. Had a nice mid-afternoon conversation with him, sitting at the bar. Saw him live quite a few times, most recently at The Commodore in Vancouver. A gentle, soft spoken man with huge freaking hands.
His record "Damn Right I Got The Blues" (1990) is seminal Chicago blues.

This is a shot I'm really proud of, he has such an intense expression! It was a really amazing moment: Buddy suddendly came down from the stage without stopping playing and did a walk in the middle crowd: really an amazing moment (indeed, I can't get how I managed to take some clear pictures, my hands were shaking heavily...

Went to a business convention about 10 years ago in Chicago.Took a cab by myself downtown to listen to some blues.Went to Buddy Guy's Legends club and sat at the bar.A decent band was on stage but me and a girl next to me were staring straight ahead deep in conversation when she said..."don't look now,but Buddy is sitting next to you".I turned to my right and said hello to a legend.He was drinking Heineken(on the rocks)and spent the next 10 minutes talking to me about his tour,his daughter(going to college)and the current status of the blues in the U.S.He was the most humble,decent big time musician I've ever met(I've met a few).Thanks Buddy .BTW...he laughed out loud when I told him I was a harp player.

A friend of mine dragged me to a venerable club in Phoenix, AZ to see him in 2002. This Guy has an incomparable stage presence even in his 60's. Put a lyre in his hands and send him back to the dark ages and we'd still know his name.
This is one of very few John Hiatt covers that I can enjoy as much as the original.
Let me feel the rain ~ so soulful and we in the southeast need it badly.

Blues are a state of mind, not a state of yer acidwash. DUH
There are blues guitarists with better chops, but he is the entire package. He's a great blues vocalist, and a decent player. And paired with Bonnie Raitt, well, it makes it almost perfect.
