Shawn Colvin did a incredible album "Cover Girl" . Her versions of songs by Sting, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan are beautiful. Her rendition of Greg Brown's "Cool Remove", with Mary Chapin Carpenter is amazing. And Shawn's interpretation of "Naive" is soooo comfy.

This was on rotation at my son's wedding party - I used to play the album when he was a baby —
Can't type, crying now.

They all switched instruments on this song. No one played what they normally play. I've said before this song makes me smile, makes me cry and all inbetween. It is one of few songs that are perfectly done. Just my opinion...

just saw David Byrne last night in Boston. The show was one of the best choreographed performance I've seen and the music was outstanding. He played a lot of Heads stuff. See it if you can.

Over the years, this has become well known, but at the time, it was blowing our minds. Growing up with the Heads was a nice blessing

Being heavily influenced by protest rock, thematic rock, prog rock, during a time of cultural and political upheaval, the Heads (and other wave/punk bands of the time) taught me that music didn't always have to heavy and meaningful. Sometimes it could just be fun.

I like repetitive music if the groove is good, but this groove does nothing for me I'm afraid....
I think all about this song is the perfectly clean mix and the immediately identifiable voice of David, the lack of pretention and the risky way to play detuned instruments that could have made the song be a total failure, but they didn't. TH have that sense of building a memorable groove out of appearently simple chords and without technical tricks. Great song in the midtime of a quiet dancing party.
