Cool; thanks for conjuring up some of the old Spirit! Forever reminds me of a camping TRIP the bro and I took to Telluride and back the summer of '85. We were set up on a ridge near Lizard Head Pass. The ribs were sizzling on the hibachi, the Mr. Natural was kicking in, and the meadow below was starting to exhibit Van Gogh swirls when my bro put the Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus tape on... It was the perfect soundtrack...

Just a bit of old guy trivia - I was really into Spirit as a teenager, and I saw them a couple of times.  The second time, they were less successful, so they opened for some band I'd never heard of, so I went anyway to hear them.  They were okay, though they played a short set, but the next band - Ike and Tina Turner - were pretty damn good.

I though something got weird and my web page didn't update, but no, it's just our excellent DJs doing what commercial radio won't do....thanks guys.

I may have to drag this out again, indulge in some of the above noted sweet weed and give the vinyl a spin again for the first time.

I assume that the two Spirit songs are in tribute to Ed Cassidy's 88th birthday the other day. The band was, and still is to this day, a major influence in rock and roll.

Spirit is a band that sounds deeply entrenched in its era. As time goes by, I see them further in the glow of receding tail lights. Still, I liked hearing 2 songs from the same album.
