Take me to another place, she said
Take me to another time
Run with me across the oceans
Float me on a silver cloud

If I could I would, but I don't know how
If I could I would, but I don't know how
If I could I would and I'd take you now

Stay with me till time turns over
I want to feel my feet leave the ground
Take me where the whispering breezes
Can lift me up and spin me around

If I could I would, but I don't know how
If I could I would, but I don't know how
If I could I would and I'd take you now

Hear you laughing as we go
Flipping backward through the doors and through the windows
I'm melting into nothing

If I could I would, but I don't know how
If I could I would, but I don't know how
If I could I would and I'd take you now

Wow, this is even worse than regular phish.
Not a big Phish fan, but it was a good idea to collaborate with Alison, they work well together. 8!

WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE DEEP DOWN.
rock band noted for their extended jam sessions and musical improvisation. Formed at the University of Vermont in 1983, the band's four members performed together for the better part of 21 years until their breakup in August 2004. Their music had elements of a wide variety of genres including, but not limited to, rock, jazz, and funk sounds. Each of their concerts was original in terms of the songs performed, the order in which they appeared, and the way in which they were performed.

Why I love them - Phish will forever be one of my favorite bands because of their ability to involve you in the song. Each song has it's own unique individuality. They are masters of the "jam" which is the point in the song of complete improvisation and free flowing instrumental. Being involved in an intense jam can take you to the level of orgasm. wnick87

Wow. If that's the case, I haven't missed much...except endless repetitions of the same words. {#Rolleyes}

Nice music, though. 4

Precisely put.

As usual, spot on Dave!{#Yes}
Since you don't know how, why don't you shut up about it. {#Headache}
I love it when Phish actually plays songs instead of that damn jam shi'te (yes, I am not a Dead fan either). They actually can play very pretty little indie pop songs when they put their mind to it, I like it!{#Bananapiano}
More Phish please one of my favorite bands. Thanks for playin. Also a Krauss fan

Sounds a bit like a lullabye to me - not Phishy enough!

Oh yes, she takes Radio Paradise up where it belongs. Too bad there's not more Alison on RP. {#Sunny}

A good Phish song. When they stop noodling around and being goofy they make some good stuff—unfortunately that is more the exception than the rule.

Couldn't have put it better, myself.

Alison is a living godess -
That steel drum thing is nice too - I'm on an island with a margarita!  Woo Hoo!
Cool - good vocal harmonies, very complimentary.

When I heard this I thought of "Please Be With Me" from Eric Clapton's 461 Ocean Boulevard.

No horses were harmed during the making of this album.

Better than anything on her CD with Plant ...

At long last, Phish is going to play together again.  Hearing this makes me look forward to many great shows to come!!!{#Dancingbanana}{#Bananajam}{#Bananapiano}

how many times have you thought...................
if i could i would, but i don't know how.....................
We must be on a month +1 day cycle with this playlist.
This song is crap!{#Frustrated}
This song kicks ass.
Amazing vocals for Phish...not normally stellar in that category.
CD cover looks amazingly like the Brooks Brothers logo.
Funny how she fits in so well wherever she goes.
*sigh*
Great song, especially the bridge! Good stuff. I love Alison Krauss. She elevates anything to the level of transcendence.

which lyrics can't you understand or or you listening to crappy bootlegs...I find no comparison between the two. physicsgenius wrote:

Poor horse. Good choice, Bill. Phish for non-fans.
I never knew this was Allison Kraus... and I have the albulm, too! wow. very nice touch to the song.
actually not bad for Phish...who are usually boring to me.

The surname is "Krauss", no e. And she's brilliant as a vocalist and on her fiddle.(click here)
Up with People!
Alison!! Get away from those dirty hippies right now!

A lovely loping melody...thanks for a refreshing "aahhhh" in my day. Me likee.
Is this your repetitive song mix, Bill? Is this your repetitive song mix, Bill?

Same here. Nice strings.
I give this a 6 because of Allison...otherwise I'd probably go with a 4. From me to Allison:
never got into phish...period.
The "Donna Godchaux" phase of Phish? ya ya, I know it is Allison Krause on this song...

NO, it's just repetitious-poor communication skills &/or poor lyric writing skills

Diane, I have never really been able to convey how I feel about Phish, but you have really summed it up!! There are a few Phish songs that I enjoy (such as "Bouncin' Round the Room"), but other than that, it is hard to pay attention to their music because it is so bland. I have forced myself to listen to them (like an entire live album) in an effort to "get them" but I just don't. So, I agree -- I don't dislike them, but I just don't like them.
I can't say I'm a big fan but I have liked their music and I particularily love their "Junta" album. Maybe if you tried, "Divided Sky" or "Fee" from that album you'd like some Phish. "Divided Sky" is one of my all time favorite songs.
i dont remember this being on the HOIST album..
Simply sweet!

I'm not normally a big Phish phan. But with the addition of strings, and Allison...it's a pretty fine tune. *edit* on subsequent listenings, I wish the lyrics weren't quite so repetitious...still a good song.
With you on that one, it really demonstrates the depth of their musicianship. And if you take the Dead/Phish parallel, Allison Krause beats the usually squalling Donna Godchaux 100%.
One more time, if you could you would what? :iamwith:

that's the first Phish song I've heard that I didn't have to mute...perhaps it is the presence of a guest vocalist that makes this one tolerable to me

Yep. Less than 2.5 hours ago, to be more exact. I am a defender of Bill's repeat playlists, but this is a little too soon! It must have something to do with his database meltdown a couple of hours ago. If I could (have another song played), I would.

Pretty much on the mark. Another way is: 21st Century elevator music!

With Alison Krauss' voice at your disposal, this is all theycould come up with?

The song's also just called "If I Could" according to Amazon....
I wonder where Phish met Allison. They seem to be an unlikely duo although they sound great together.

my favorite phish song... nice!
My feet are off the ground! This is a good duet. two thumbs up.
Wow!! Me likey!!
I used to think it was Dolly Parton singing with Phish in this song. Good song, good album.
flipping backward through the doors and through the windows... great song from a great band

That's true. Unfortunately, for Mike Gordon, he was discovered by some Hell's Angels who were backstage after the show and who, according to the news accounts I read, "delivered their own justice" before the authorities arrived.

This is a great composition. It's a precursor to the matured material that would appear later on 'Billy Breathes'. Allison Krause's voice is a nice addition to the mix too.
this is the first phish album i had heard. i immediately went out and got all others i could find...i still enjoy some good phish now and again. did go through a little phishy stage there for a while...funny to remember... me like-a the phish
beautiful tune
Phish is an acquired taste a la Grateful Dead. This is one of their shorter and more 'practical' songs. I love Phish and always will and am always happy to hear any of their work on RP. Thanks.
Just heard for the first time. Great tune.
What a good composed song from the band. Not many past Rift. After that, with some exclusions, it just noodles
Sounds like RP got taken over by a lame easy-listening station. This really sucks.
Dude got busted for taking \"art\" photos of a 9 year old girl. Too bad. I kind of like this group.
Excellent choice... this entire album is great
This is the kind of phish song I like. If they would just play good solid compositions like this, and not jerk around (pardon me, \"jam\") for half an hour in the middle of every tune...
This song brought me into the Phish phold. I love this song and Allison\'s pure voice in it.
