Went down to a second hand store
to buy some clothes
like I used to wear before
Curly haired Sally says she
likes me a little better this way

Everthing I wish for
I know I could
Only if everything I could
I didn't wish for.
It's a good day in the USA
stripped down
to your Uncle long johns
Well no thanks
I'm good
here in my magenta radio

Do do do do do do do do do.....
Here In my magenta radio
Well can I say something;
just a little more
I bet you we could talk
into the morning honey.
I bet you we never
see the morning
without a hornet
buzzing around our door
Cause everytime I look
into your mirror
I see smoke from your gun
We both got itchy triggers
and we wear them for fun.
We got two stories to tell
and I think one of them is wrong
Well no thanks
I'm good
here in my magenta radio
Do do do do do do do......

Hold me my lady
Cause we all love
even when we try
Hold me my lady
Cause we all love
even when we try

When we try
we don't know our name
When we try,
but we don't know our name

I see us kissing the Earth
lovers of our way to be
Trying on shoes
that don't really fit our feet
All in a dream we got burnt
All in a dream we got hurt...
But we try, we try & we try & we
Hold me my lady
cause we all love
even when we try
Hold me my lady
cause we all love
even when we try
But we don't know our name

How does this only have a 5.4? I think it's a strong 7
Oh my, I get the segue -- "The Angels [whose wings 'got rusted'] Wanna Wear My Red Shoes", followed by "Magenta [like 'red', I get it!] Radio", sung by Rusted [like the Angels' wings] Root !

Nice move, Bill!
This is beautiful example of the traditional music of Pittsburgh.
I can't remember the last time I heard a Rusted Root song. Thank you for playing them.
Nothing to look at hear. Keep moving along.

Actually more like African bands. Paul Simon was simply borrowing. You can hear that loping beat in the village music in some parts of Africa. Goes way back.

Great reply Proc...wait....ednazarko...yeah...great reply!  This one has some tasty bits to it, though I'm only liking it enough to call it a 6...still...Long Live RP!!

Love the loping rhythm. Skirting the outer edge of AfroBeat.
I'm sure this has already been noted but trying to sound like Paul Simon
Wrong album, WP says this was on their self-titled record from 1998.
Man, this nouveau-hippie rock from the 90s got dated fast didn't it?

That was every Beavis & Butthead sketch.

Every time the come on I think that it is Spirit of the West. I like this song. I'll have to check out this band some more.

Ha. thats a good one. thanks for making me laugh
Wow - these guys are great! They remind me of Paul Sikon's Rhythm of the Saints
They are playing on Long Island Feb 20th
Please stop singing....thanks...
I bet this is a fun song to dance to during the mid-day of an August music festival.

No.

Thanks. I'll never be able to hear this again without thinking of Cher.

I agree. Nothing quite like hearing Elmer Fudd sing.

Exactly! This is so bad. . .
Wow... sounds like "Spirit of the West" Kinda like English cooking - Mushy, Overdune & Bland
I would rather hear any garage band then this crap from the most over rated band in Pennsylvania. Message me for my "real" feelings.
This song makes me think 'I haven't heard enough Paul Simon on Radio Paradise lately'
I am liking the "radio" set here, (this song, plus Van Morrison "Wavelength"), but if I hear "Mexican Radio" by Wall of Voodoo I might hurl....
Nice playing, but never seems to go anywhere - only big changes are dynamic, and they're not that big.
Wow...rusted root without the "Hibbityabbityoobityawww" factor... I still don't care it all that much...3.

Rusted Root following Modest Mouse - I'm not the only person who hears a similarity between the two!!!

Actually, I hate that it sounds like the amateur jam garage band that plays at O'Paddy's on Wednesday nights, comprised of a bunch of CPAs with those snap-down sunglasses on their spectacles. As for your observation: 1. There's a melody... a boring melody. What, are there like, two key changes? 2. Played clearly. Great, the mics work. Thunderous applause. 3. You call that singing?
8O It's NOT Cher!!??!!
OK, I like RR and all, but does anyone catch how much that guy sounds like CHER....? "MY La-a-a-a-dy." Can that be good? Still, an 8.

Thanks for the laugh.
I want to like them alot, I feel like I should like them alot, but I ususally end up feeling like I do after hearing Dave Matthews: suffering from information overload. It's like they try to cram too much into a musical structure.
It sounds like he's doing his impression of Cher. jefferydelmar wrote:

:headshake: Nope- not my cup-o-tea
ah, the mid-90s. nice to see another mostly-decent song from a hit-or-miss band. now we need something good from Deep Blue Something besides "Breakfast At Tiffany's".
Maganda radio
Very reminiscent of one of the tracks of Paul Simon's "Rhythm of the Saints" album... I can't remember which one.

Yes I hear it. I really like some RR. But this is not one of their best. And I think the lead male's voice is sexy - strong but the vibrato makes it passionate and sensitive and not self-conscious.

at least it's not "breathy!"
There are only a few RR songs that I love, but most, I like. I really became a big fan after catching their live show. They might sound a little loose and light on disk, but these folks put on a high-energy, dynamic, tight live show.
Saw these guys open for the Allman Brothers several years ago. Didn't do anything for me then. Doesn't do anything for me now. Kind of has that rambling, crowded "Dave Matthews" sound.

Very interesting song (\"interesting\" in a good way). Not sure why it\'s received so many negative comments, and such a low rating.
This song\'s a great example of why I can\'t stand this band.
Hey, after Wavelength, another song with lots of doob doob doodub doob in it. I wonder what background vocalists have sung more often, that, shalala (nanana) or oowhee?
if I never hear this again, thats OKAY....
For some reason, the lead vocalist reminds me of David Byrne. :)
This guy\'s voice is very unique. I\'m not sure I can even describe it, as if anyone here would care. He has a very strange vibrato that gets on my nerves after a bit, depending on the song.
I really like this one and seriously dig Rusted Root in general ... but, I\'m starting to get the \"over-played blues\" about this particular song. :(
Rusted Root Rocks!! Play more of this!!
