It glittered and it gleamed
for the arriving beauty queen
a ring and a car
now you're the prettiest by far
No party she'd not attend
no invitation she wouldn't send
transfixed by the inner sound
of your promise to be found

"Nothing or no-one will ever
make me let you down"

Kiss them for me -- I may be delayed
Kiss them for me -- if I am delayed

It's divoon, oh it's serene
in the fountains pink champagne
someone carving their devotion
in the heart shaped pool of fame

"Nothing or no-one will ever
make me let you down"

Kiss them for me -- I may be delayed
Kiss them for me -- I may find myself delayed

On the road to New Orleans
a spray of stars hit the screen
as the 10th impact shimmered
the forbidden candles beamed

Kiss them for me -- I may be delayed
Kiss them for me -- I may find myself delayed

Kiss them for me -- Kiss them for me

Kiss them for me -- I may find myself delayed

Great to hear this pop on unexpectedly, been a long while since I've heard this now classic track.

All over the Clubs in '91 & '92
They performed at the very first Lollapalooza at Pine Knob !
Always liked this one, def a unique sound that was very cutting edge at the time.
A supreme Queen legend in her time.
I'll bring this up again.  The beats come from PSK What Does It Mean by Schooly D.  From Philly.  Where this loop came from, I have no idea, I need to research it. If any of our brainiac RP listeners know, pls drop knowledge.  But yes, this is a solid 10, Sue is hot as can be, this song is a jam.
if you haven't heard it, Patti Griffin does a good cover of this. Think it's at the back half off of a song on "Silver Bells" (or whatever the official release title of that collection of songs was a few years later.)
Another delightful discovery, thank you RP. Despite being in England, I don't remember ever hearing this before, but I will now.

That's what happens when an artist makes art and not product.
This has been a favorite of mine since I first heard it on MTV way back then. Still holds true.
Simply divoon ... an easy nine, plus one more for Siouxsie heself.

Awesome!  This is a fantastic song, no matter what decade or century.
A more tuneful Siouxsie than I recall! Both she and I appear to to mellowed with age!

You said it so much better than I could.

I was just thinking, dang, I love this song every time I hear it...that's as far as I got...

It's because Siouxsie was never following any trend. Just doing her own thing. Her, like so many others, should have been played on mainstream radio but wasn't because she was labelled as "new wave."  Her writing skills, voice and band members were as good or much better than 99% of the crap on mainstream radio at the time.
I was doing a semester abroad gig in London in fall 1988.  We had a walk down the Cromwell Road to our local Sainsbury's for groceries.  On one trip, a friend from our building came back from another aisle ecstatic.  "I just saw Siouxsie!!!"  ... I didn't know who he was talking about at the time
PSK, what does it mean?
I like a lot of Siouxsie, I grew up listening to her, but this tune is bloody awful. It just drags on and on and on...

You, sir, are one loony tune.

don't change
This is a song that was out prior to my music production days. Such a treat to listen to now. Intense. Clean. Talented.

Try Cholorox... If that fails, theres the PSD button. Glad to help!
Those lifted Schooly D drums are what makes this song honestly
Big love to the masters at RP we out hereeee son

Maybe they want to hear some audio from the 1957 film from which this song took its name?? What a puzzling comment! {#Ask}
Sublime transition from Afro Celt Sound System — Release. Loved this song in the dance clubs in those days. WTG Bill

Second that
From Wikipedia: "Kiss Them for Me" was released on 13 May 1991.
Happy 26th Birthday.  Hard to believe.

Well said. Agree!

These guys get a 9 because of they pushed the limits and expansion on the post punk era and i like this song.
Sorry, my 10 rating failed to elevate it's status this morning.
Our DJ loves this song and I'm alright with that!
This one deserves an eight  at least forsure, for the creativity and the performance. Anythign less would be ridiculous.
Still a great song after all these years.
And suddenly I'm transported to a place and feeling from 25 years ago, rich and vivid as any dream.
I was a big Siouxsie fan...up to this album. {#Neutral}
Love Love Love!!!

Poor CBC.  Tried to add some American-style celebrity narcissism programming and then it backfired.  (Jian Ghomeshi was  a star host who liked to choke and slap his dates, including colleagues.)

If I am still listening to CBC radio when Q comes on, I usually switch to NPR pod casts.

Love how Siouxsie sings the melody. Hypnotizing.

Oldfart48, If I may:
Pretty sure the "gay" is a typo for "day"

As for the content -

I consider "back in the day to be the 70's
Pretty sure Oldfart48 considers "back in the day" to be the late 50's (Think Buddy Holly, Elvis or the Big Bopper)

For some of us - Music made in the 90's is still "the new stuff"!

And by the way: I really like this new fangled stuff!!!
excellent, as always..

It was written by S&B.  It was covered by several musicians, including Patty Griffin —-which I would kill to hear, btw. {#Cheers}

Could we possibly add some of her side band, The Creatures, to the general excellence of RP?
I always had the idea that a combination between Siouxsie and Schoolly D would turn out great! {#Cheesygrin}
This is the first Siouxsie song I ever heard, and it's still the best.  Please add it to the RP playlist!

I have liked this song ever since Bill played it on the day (or day after?) Hurricane Katrina hit NOLA.

On the road to New Orleans
a spray of stars hit the screen
as the 10th impact shimmered
the forbidden candles beamed

Kiss them for me -- I may be delayed
Kiss them for me -- I may find myself delayed
Landsailor, Cosmic, Release, Kiss Them for Me. Very nice groove.
My ears just pricked up... Love Siouxsie
...more Siouxsie, please! (Not only this one) {#Crown}

Just finished replacing my entire back catalogue of vinyl and cassette with mp3's.  Virtually everything available from a multitude of sources, but I was quite ashamed of most of it and donated the lot to a charity shop.  I have since been informed that some of my Now albums are worth upwards of 500 quid each... Boo hoo.
I can't hear this song without thinking of the Save All Your Kisses For Me chorus by The Brotherhood of Man

ding, ding, tata tata, dirli, dirli
I keep hearing instrumentation informed by Sgt. Pepper's L.H.C.B....
One of Bill's faves! ..in heavy rotation...

Everybody in my mushrooming multitude of churches be dancing buck ass naked all over the world like bowlegged gypsy muleskinners...  love this song...  love sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll...
This always makes me smile, so I had to bump it up to a 9.
Groundbreaking stuff !   And timeless...

to this day delicious Siouxsie is a fantasy lover of mine, ay carumba what a darling killer chick!!!
I had a gorgeous bartender  at Max Fish on Ludlow back in the nineties who wore 2 dark blue rectangles of maybeline in place of eyebrows, a cosmic distraction man, lovelie women who have you right where they want you with just a look......mmmmmmmm

I think the only reason I had only rated it 6 at first was that there are many many better songs from SatB.
