How is it I live in Saskatchewan and am only hearing this song now? Also, between this and Nadia Reid’s “Oh Canada” I detect a possible new trend of songs about my country by New Zealanders.
I grew up in Saskatchewan, and can confirm that there is occasionally some (somewhat) higher ground. Very occasionally.
Just to get them out there, here are the lyrics, originally posted by timmus:

Pickups are blue on the golden plain

Few possibilities in this formless range
Even in Saskatchewan there is some higher ground
In Saskatchewan

Shot from a spring no engine sound
Rising to blue and looking down
Somewhere in Saskatchewan someone's looking down
In Saskatchewan
It's colder now but in a room there the fire warms some tables and chairs
It's colder now it's colder now

Skies are blue roads curve away
Clearer than the moon but not so far away
Lights out in Saskatchewan there's another sound
In Saskatchewan

Just lying down you can hide there the grass is tall you can disappear
And all you see are stars from there

Thank you for posting.

Just love this one.  Rolls along beautifully.
Home of the melon heads.{#Drunk}
Cool song! Missed half of it heating my kitchen with burrito farts. Oh well, nice song.
Another first for me here on RP!
Dang, I missed half of it. I was in the kitchen heating up my burrito and missed a hot song. But that guitar was very nice.

If you liked Country & Western, try the all-new Country & Northern!

Hurry, available while supplies last!
Neil Young influence, most definitely.  Makes me think of Kathleen Edwards.

Nice whimsical touch.
P.S. What is that?  Liquid slide guitar?  It sounds fabulous.
Nice tune.  Dig the Neil Young influence for sure.
Singing and lyrics: OK.
Music: Good.
Guitar: Fabulous.

I think its more Gin Blossom’s personally. Very nice!

Sounds like David Lindley on slide.
Tough to find the lyrics on-line.

Yep, very Tweedy. "Sky Blue Sky" redux. I like that and I like this too.
Really like this.  Thanks for introducing me to this artist, RP.
Footloose kiwi.

Can come back to Vancouver any time.
Sweet.

I'm liking this out of the gate.

That's what I thought, too!

Good stuff.

Nice. Never heard it before.

Found this album at the Dollar Store. What a great find!
Beautiful song. Never heard of him before, but I\'ll make sure I learn more about him. At first I thought at first it was something new from World Party.
Yeah Saskatchewan!
I would give this a 100 but Bill won't let me. This is GREAT!

I notice you are from Vancouver also. Kenmo, you should check out his whole album - Normal for Bridgwater (you can buy it via absound online or chapters) - lot's of references to Vancouver ("They're pulling down the BowMac sign") - he's from England but his song writing partner is from Vancouver and he use to live here for a while.
Whoever was lobbying for this was right:-) Great stuff!
Fantastic tune! A very under-rated talent.
