You've got a great car
Yeah, what's wrong with it today?
I used to have one too
Maybe I'll come and have a look
I really love your hairdo, yeah
I'm glad you like mine too
See what lookin' pretty cool will get ya

So what do you do?
Oh yeah, I wait tables too
No, I haven't heard your band
'Cause you guys are pretty new
But if you dig on vegan food
Well, come over to my work
I'll have them cook you something that you'll really love

'Cause I like you
Yeah, I like you
And I'm feelin so bohemian like you
Yeah, I like you
Yeah, I like you
And I feel
Wahoo, woooo

Ooh, ooh, ooooh
Ooh, ooh, ooooh
Ooh, ooh, ooooh
Ooh, ooh, ooooh

Wait
Who's that guy
Just hanging at your pad
He's looking kinda bored
Yeah, you broke up, that's too bad
I guess it's fair if he always pays the rent
And he doesn't get bent about sleeping on the couch when I'm there

'Cause I like you
Yeah, I like you
And I'm feeling so bohemian like you
Yeah, I like you
Yeah, I like you
And I feel
Wahoo, woooo

Ooh, ooh, ooooh
Ooh, ooh, ooooh
Ooh, ooh, ooooh

I'm getting wise
And I'm feeling so bohemian like you
It's you that I want so please
Just a casual, casual easy thing
Is it? It is for me

And I like you
Yeah, I like you
And I like you, I like you, I like you, I like you, I like you, I like you
I like you
And I feel
Wahoo, woooo

Ooh, ooh, ooooh
Ooh, ooh, ooooh
Ooh, ooh, ooooh
Ooh, ooh, ooooh

After a group of miserable songs, RP finally found the correct path. Thanks a lot!
this one stands up after all this time.

such an infectious groove. seems new every time i hear it. timeless.

i just feel like it's a rip off of a stones guitar riff...i'm sure that's been discussed somewhere in all the 690 comments here, but i am too lazy to scroll to look. did they get called out for plagurizing at all for this?

i like the dandies, but this one is their best IMO.
Just one of those songs that uplifts you every time. Video is great too.

Lookin' at the CD over in the rack but it kinda sounds better coming from RP -  thanks Bill.
57 yr old male in NZ here, 22:00 on a Monday, on great headphones, just had to crank this up to deafening levels....
Totally agree: AWESOME!!

I've always found it intriguing that one of the Dandy Warhols band members went on to be a real estate agent in Portland.  I'm not sure that's a typical outcome of popular bands from the 2000s... you never hear stories about their members returning to a "normal" 9-5 job. I wonder if the band got screwed out royalties by their label.

That's Zia!  I follow her Instagram and it largely seems like a practical way to diversify her income and still build a schedule around her band commitments.  She'd started prior to the pandemic and due to touring life shutting down, it seemed to've worked out well.

Great song!

Will have to check out the rest of the album

Good Tune!
FOREVER REMINDS ME OF riding from Denver to Boulder in Dahlia's Subie, when this came on and I FREAKED, and added, "if you also like Dengue Fever, pull over, because that means that we should be married." Well, she pulled over, and put Dengue Fever on. We sure had some fun, and I'd hoped for more, but she was called to family duty back to California.  Sad, but one must keep on dancing -- dig!

Has a classic sounding RS intro. In fact the whole song has a strong RS vibe.

Wait, what?
You know this is perfect hipster-pop when Apple licensed it...
I still think their album before this- The Dandy Warhols Come Down - is an amazing record that deserves some more RP play and is one of those you listen to the whole thing - amazing song transitions.  I still hold out a thread of hope they might make a record like that one again.

Hahahaaa! This is 20 years old!  Timeless classic. The monkeys will always be monkeys.
Where's the rest of the story?!

  Love this band.
Ought to be the National Anthem. But until we all start liking each other enough for that to happen we'll have to stick with Flobots' Handlebars as the anthem.
Saw them last week in Vancouver, BC. Neat how the drummer is not stuck at the back, everyone is front and centre.
rolling stones .................first

Wooo!
This is a great band and this is one of their hippest songs: witty lyrics, nicely mixed, "hoo hoo" background vocals, and a catchy melody with hooks galore.

Love it!

As someone who has been on both ends of this 'couch' situation, I can fully attest that sleeping on the couch sucks and sleeping in bed with the girl rules!  Except when couch dude gets bent out of shape, doesn't leave, makes problems, etc.  Sure wish I had this song to play back then!!  Long Live RP!!  And HJB, wherever you are, if you're still alive.....yeah...thanks for kicking him to the couch!!
I could be wrong, but I think he likes you.
Stupid band name. Stupid song. Stupid lyrics. Shut up already ya wüss

Even the name is an appropriation with a little twist. What else should folks expect?

Beck does this same thing, but he's more prolific. I don't see as many complaints with him, except maybe on the song Jackass.

I hope you never come to this: I lost the X-wife to the tune of Radiohead "Hail To The Thief" album which I listened to with my daughter over and over, on the way to Coachella. Now, 10 years on- very happily remarried, and all-is-cool- I still can't listen to  "Backdrifts- Honeymoon is Over" without feeling a little seasickness. Yea, that song "captured it all"  I suppose you could say.

having trouble getting past the "Brown Sugar" riff. Lyrics are also painfully adolescent. Sorry.

I think it's quite a sharp satire, for a bunch of stoners. Funny thing about the Dandy Warhols: they do super-rocky numbers like this, you buy an album on the strength of those, and the rest of the album is mumblecore stoner stuff with the incisiveness of a marshmallow and the bite of an earthworm. 9 from the Nottingham jury for this number, but a nailed on Ho-Hum for most of their output.

Agreed on all accounts. I acquired several of their works hoping for more output like this but found nothing equal to this and with a few exceptions found it mostly disposable...

From the Stones to this cannot be a coincidence, right? But hey, it's a really "likable" Bohemian song.....even if they are taking the Mickey out of it.

In fact, the entire song seems to have been constructed around that riff rip-off - almost as if they used to cover the stones before writing original material...

Like Keith Richards never lifted a riff?

As in Chuck Berry?
Love the energy. Good song. I hear the beginning and think...Oh (*#)$ it's Rolling Stones...then I am pleasantly surprised it's the Warhols...!

My god! We need more bands trying to emualate or rip off the Rolling Stones! Or Led Z. Or Beatles. Or Allmans. Or Grateful Dead. Or Pink Floyd. Or Yes. Or Bob Dylan. Or The Who. Or Little Feat. Or Eric Clapton.

We need RnR!!! 21st century rock music sucks...so far.

Sucko barfo for just sounding like the ugly stones.

is it me or does this song sound an awful lot like a blend of "jumpin jack flash" and "brown sugar"??
