this one stands up after all this time.

such an infectious groove. seems new every time i hear it. timeless.

i just feel like it's a rip off of a stones guitar riff...i'm sure that's been discussed somewhere in all the 690 comments here, but i am too lazy to scroll to look. did they get called out for plagurizing at all for this?

i like the dandies, but this one is their best IMO.

 That's Zia!  I follow her Instagram and it largely seems like a practical way to diversify her income and still build a schedule around her band commitments.  She'd started prior to the pandemic and due to touring life shutting down, it seemed to've worked out well.

Yep! I think that's intentional; the Dandies did a whole bunch of "appropriating" for this album. There's some Zeppelin and Burt Bacharach in other songs.

I still think their album before this- The Dandy Warhols Come Down - is an amazing record that deserves some more RP play and is one of those you listen to the whole thing - amazing song transitions.  I still hold out a thread of hope they might make a record like that one again.

As someone who has been on both ends of this 'couch' situation, I can fully attest that sleeping on the couch sucks and sleeping in bed with the girl rules!  Except when couch dude gets bent out of shape, doesn't leave, makes problems, etc.  Sure wish I had this song to play back then!!  Long Live RP!!  And HJB, wherever you are, if you're still alive.....yeah...thanks for kicking him to the couch!!

I hope you never come to this: I lost the X-wife to the tune of Radiohead "Hail To The Thief" album which I listened to with my daughter over and over, on the way to Coachella. Now, 10 years on- very happily remarried, and all-is-cool- I still can't listen to  "Backdrifts- Honeymoon is Over" without feeling a little seasickness. Must admit the DM's rather passed me by the first time around... but having heard this several time on RP, and also the most excellent Godless, I invested a whole £3 in a 'Greatest Hits' CD, and I've not (on the whole) been disappointed...
