I heard you on the wireless back in '52
Lying awake intently tuning in on you
If I was young it didn't stop you coming through
''Oh-a-oh''

They took the credit for your second symphony
Rewritten by machine on new technology
And now I understand the problems you can see

''Oh-a-oh''
I met your children
''Oh-a-oh''
What did you tell them?

''Video killed the radio star
Video killed the radio star''
Pictures came and broke your heart
''Oh-a-a-a oh''

And now we meet in an abandoned studio
We hear the playback and it seems so long ago
And you remember the jingles used to go:

''Oh-a-oh''
You were the first one
''Oh-a-oh''
You were the last one

''Video killed the radio star
Video killed the radio star''
In my mind and in my car
We can't rewind, we've gone too far
''Oh-a-a-a oh
Oh-a-a-a oh''

''Video killed the radio star
Video killed the radio star''
In my mind and in my car
We can't rewind, we've gone too far
Pictures came and broke your heart
Put the blame on VTR...

''You are the radio star
You are the radio star
Video killed the radio star
Video killed the radio star
Video killed the radio star
Video killed the radio star''
You are the radio star
''Video killed the radio star
Video killed the radio star''
You are the radio star
''Video killed the radio star
Video killed the radio star''
You are the radio star
''Video killed the radio star
Video killed the radio star''
You are the radio star

''Oh-a-oh, oh-a-oh...''

and for those of us who don't feel nostalgic....
I think people tend to blame many of problems of the x + y generations on MTV. I personally think if MTV had not started the revolution, then someone else would have. It was just an idea that was inevitable. (Kinda like internet radio once the bandwidth + computer hardware was able to support its technical requirements.)
Trevor Horn, aka Buggles produced the tatu record and is currently working on Belle and Sebastian\'s new album

Perhaps not, but the socio-cultural change which was effected by MTV, and the fact that this was the very first video, makes this a monumental song! How different do you think things would be without MTV? mmmmmm, makes one think, huh? (pimp)

Fluffy, but adds to the eclecticism of RP. Nice to hear it again... brings back memories. :p
Yeah, & back then we thought this was oh, so cool.

I would. I think it's fun for an occasional listen.

Mostly mindless MOR drivel, but fun none the less. It also reminds me I\'m not getting any younger :D
