So this ain't the end, I saw you again today
I had to turn my heart away
Smile like the sun, kisses for everyone
And tales it never fails

You lyin' so low in the weeds
I bet you gonna ambush me
You'd have me down, down, down, down on my knees
Now wouldn't you? Barracuda
Oh

Back over time we were all tryin' for free
You met the porpoise and me, oh
No right, no wrong selling a song
A name whisper game

And if the real thing don't do the trick
You better make up something quick
You gonna burn, burn, burn, burn, burn to the wick
Ooh, barracuda
Oh, yeah

"Sell me, sell you" the porpoise said
"Dive down deep, now, save my head"
You
I think that you got the blues, too

All that night and all the next
Swam without lookin' back
Made for the western pools
Silly, silly fools

The real thing don't do the trick
No, you better make up something quick
You gonna burn, burn, burn, burn, burn it to the wick
Ohh, barra-barracuda, yeah

Ooh, hey!

Took the word right out of my mouth....
ouch.

One of the things I've always loved about "Barracuda" is the badass electric guitars.  Without the electric guitars it really loses something.

OMG!  They look so young!  I thought they were older when this song came out.  But then again they are a few years older than me so I guess in retrospect they looked older.

C'est la vie, {#Cheers}.

Hey, Bill, if you're going to do a Bad 80s day, let us know in advance so we can enjoy it ironically.

The original version of this song was released in 1977, not the '80s.
Yeah!

It's good to hear some Heart on RP
One of my favourite singers ever.
Works for me! Good to hear this warhorse from a different angle.
Would love to never hear this again.

Wow—1st time out of the box for this one in 12 1/2 YEARS!!!

Judging from the ratings distribution, I'm guessing some naysayers will be waking up soon...

Never heard this version before. I think I will stick with the original kickass recording.  {#Bananajam}
Would love to hear this song done with Santana's rhythm section.
The live acoustic arrangement really show cases Ann Wilson's voice and vocal capabilities ... i like it
Huh. "Last Play: June 2, 2002". I've been hanging around RP since 2003. So whatever the lowest rotation bin is, this song is in it.

Billy Squire this morning and now this?

Just. Plain. Awful.
No thanks. I wouldn\'t mind hearing \"Even It Up\" from Bebe Le Strange (great bass line.)
TonyApuzzo is spot on with his comments. Too bad. Oh how I loved this band for a while. But they ran out of ideas after about three albums. In it seems nothing has changed.
This is a very good CD. You should listen to it if you get the chance.
I thought that it was pretty cool to hear a fresh version of the classic-rocked-to-death studio version. This acoustic version caught and kept my attention. I thought that it rocked. It even reminded me that they did not, in fact, suck as badly as their late 80s pop crap would have you believe. Chip
Barracuda is my favorite Heart song, but this acoustic version is wimpy compared to the studio version which makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. This version is too muddy and the guitar rhythm track lacks the needed edge.
Yes!! More, More!!
