Gotta say  Loreena McKennitt tracks seems to come round very frequently indeed on RP eclectic; this is the second track I've heard today (or is it the same track repreated?) and I've only had it on for a few hours. Don't mind it, but not all the time: there's plenty more 'eclectic/world' out there!

I have been to the Marrakesh market.

I have been to the Marrakesh market at night and though this song brings an exotic flair, the market atmosphere at night has a much more intense flavour to it. I like the song but does not make me think of Marrakesh.

This is my first Loreena McKennitt album.  Still my favorite, probably because it was my first.

I love her material.  So dreamy and relaxing. 

I am going to miss seeing her in concert by a week when I am home.  Sigh!

This woman is an artist in every sense of the word.  Sublimely gifted, we are blessed that she shares with us. {#Meditate}

As with all artistic expression, beauty is in the eye (or ear) of the beholder.  That said, her seemingly effortless expression of her art should not be mistaken for lack of passion or love.

You get out what you put into it, as a listener as well... you can say that about most professionally trained singers. (Loreena McKennitt studied classical piano and vocal training). Loreena actually travels to historic, cultural places and writes some of her songs about them, besides singing/playing traditional. McKennitt's lyrics have reflected her interests in the poetry of W.B. Yeats, William Blake, and Alfred Lord Tennyson

I find a great deal of feeling in her vocals... (but I karaoke along with her, mimicry is great vocal training ;)... my current favorite is Banks of Claudy... (one of the happier endings).

The whole feel of this song, the instruments, her voice, the harmonies...just transports me to another place: Somewhere on the other side of the world that is mysterious and unknown to me, but enticing me to stay.
