Oh, amigo
Here we do things slow
Money, art, a broken heart
Where did you want to go?
Señor, por favor
To the hotel Zona Rosa
What did I come here for?

Oh, señor
I run, but the damage has been done
Miles have gone away
And my amor, he never come

I look up at the sky
I am tired and dry
Uno Tecate and lime
Thinking of you
Underneath the Mexican moonlight
Thinking of you
Underneath the Mexican moon

Señor, you are wise
I can see a million years
A million tears behind your eyes
Take me home
Take me to the Zona Rosa
Mariachis and tequila
I will dance the night alone

Just some time
Just a little kiss of mine
Take me where I can forget, señor
You are so very kind

I look up at the sky
I am tired and dry
Dos Tecate and lime
Thinking of you
Underneath the Mexican moonlight
Thinking of you
Underneath the Mexican moon
Thinking of you
Underneath the Mexican moonlight
Thinking of you
Underneath the Mexican moon

I look up at the sky
I will try not to cry
Tres Tecate and lime
Thinking of you
Underneath the Mexican moonlight
Thinking of you
Underneath the Mexican moon
Thinking of you
Underneath the Mexican moonlight
Thinking of you
Underneath the Mexican moon

Thinking of you
Underneath the Mexican moonlight
Thinking of you
Underneath the Mexican moon

Let's get this lush gem back in regular rotation!
Concrete Blonde was one of those bands that is impossible to forget and rarely seen these days!! Saw them in many clubs in LA-DC-NY areas! They made such impression on many of us during the late 80s!
Uninspiring lyrics and all the babble.... Señor...

Wow.  That was like eating Mexican food in Nova Scotia.

Does that mean that you like it?
It was Johnette Napolitano (the singer) who painted the album cover, inspired by Mexican folk art. I'm not sure if it's still there but she used to have a small art gallery in West Hollywood before she moved to the desert.
Wow! Definitely not your typical 90's tune! "ay-ay-ay-ay-ay-ay" LOL! {#Cool}

This and Tomorrow Wendy are just fantastic songs; thanks RP..
frigging awesome tune

been awhile since this has been played. It is such a great song

I wonder what the rest of this record sounds like because this song is Concrete Blonde Light.  Nice but kinda tame.
thank you for taking me home in my mind.  123K

Love this song...love this album...love this band-what a freakin voice!!
Ah, such a nice groove . . . just kinda carries you away.

I bought this album long ago, when it came out.
For some reason it never caught on with me and it's been collecting dust.
On hearing this song here now, I can't figure out why.
I'll have to dust it off and give it a spin.
First thought they were covering Dylan's Senor. (cant find a squiggle)
I like just about anything by CB.
Omg this takes me back ... luv it.

I agree. This is a very good song. "Bloodletting" (extended version) is also a good Concrete Blonde song. Thanks for the photo of the Zona Rosa, Marcucho.

Up here in the states we don't really care about homosexuals, most of us know someone who is one.

I love Concrete Blond. Need to add some more to my collection.
More Concrete Blonde would be nice.
this sort of resembles the ween parody, but i like this song quite a bit anyway.

Un Mezcal por esta cancion{#Cheers}
this is zona rosa...hahah

This grabs me.... of course, I'd love to be under a Mexican moon with my honey, anytime.

...i was wondering who was performing the really badly stereotyped mexican vocals and music, and am kind of surprised to see it's concrete blonde...

Love "Concrete Blonde" but don't care for this track. How about "Everybody Knows"?

New to you maybe. Welcome to Concrete Blonde. I've been digging this album for almost half my life.
this is funny... the title has Mexican in it so it has to be sung with an OUTRAGES Mexican accent. I'd like to hear her version of David Bowie's China girl, I bet it's hilarious!
Great tune to shoot rats to
This is the kind of song that I enjoy stuck in my head.
Wonderful guitarist, great band, much under-rated!

Ya, too many ai yi yi's. Nice tune to dream on, tho.
Great tune. One of my faves from CB.
One of the better tracks by this band. An example of the most suitible setting for her voice...
This song really gets me in the mood to have some fun under the Mexican moonlight!!!
And a Tres Equis chaser! Shesdifferent wrote:

well well, time has answered - I can ignore the ai yi yi's, since the rest of the song is subliyiyime.... and it's a solid 8.
that would be castanets
love the rattles (or whatever you call them) in the background. excellent!!
That sultry voice, that beat...mmmmmmmm, me like.

Absolutely fantastic song. I picked up this CD a few months ago and it hasn't left my CD player yet.
(pimp) i love the blonde! I haven't heard this in a while! Thanks RP

Me too! The song is by Human League, called Don't You Want Me.
Huh?? This song sounds absolutely nothing like that mindless synth-only crap! Sure, Mexican Moon has some synth, but there is real instrumentation here, too! Man, the mood this song sets is nothing short of mesmerizing! How about "Tomorrow Wendy"?
Towards the end of the song - the guitar overlaying the synths - a little reminiscent of "Year of the cat" era Al Stewart? And you could do an awful lot worse...
Couldn't stop moving to the beat; good song.
I once received a Mexican Moon in TJ. I was fortunately not underneath.
Now that I think of it, I may consider uploading a couple of Dream 6 songs, just for the change. Maybe I'll send up "Rain" since it on the Dream 6 demo CD and on Mexican Moon, and also send up something that's not on Mexican Moon. Raven
My first exposure to Concrete Blonde was/is a demo CD under their old name of Dream 6. This was with the original cardboard packaging and only six tracks (hence the name of the band). The CD was later released in a normal package with a cover of "It's My Life" (the Animals' song) added. When I listened to that CD several times and found that it was the precursor to Concrete Blonde, I bought Mexican Moon. Great CD! :D Raven
Ai yi yi yuck!
Wow, love the chorus........hate the ai yi yi's. Does that mean its a 5? Why bother?

Great band, but they\'re only so-so on this tune. Garbage does this mood with more of an edge.

This is my favorite Concrete Blonde songs. So full of atmosphere, it eats with a fork.
What a perfect song for that place. Very familiar with it, my wife and I want to go back sometime. What a place.

Always a pleasure to listen to this song. Johnette Napilotono\'s voice conveys passionate longing about as well as any human voice could. My favorite concrete Blonde song! Bravo!
Bill, how about a track or two from their self-entitled record, and/or Free?
Second the motion for something from Free, or one of the slower tunes from Bloodletting. I had the good fortune to see them live some 10 or so yrs. ago, and was always surprised music distributors labelled their music 'alternative.' To me it was always James Mankey's wall of guitar and Johnette Napolitano's passionate delivery.
I\'d only heard 2 CB tunes before, the boring and overplayed \"Joey\" and their insufferable version of \"Everybody Knows,\" and decided I had no interest in hearing anything else. This tune redeems them quite a bit in my eyes; maybe I won\'t write them off after all.
How bout some Pretty and Twisted.

OH MY GOD! Thank you sooo much! Concrete Blonde should have been \"the big thing\" in the 80\'s/90\'s, but the masses could not pick up on anything other than the so-so \"Joey\", and they are no more! Sure wish they would come back & give it another go! And this one is so mysterious, so sexy, so... just take me away!
Cool :D
I don\'t know much of this band, but this song is my favourite. Suddenly these pics come into my brain: lying on a sunny beach with a longdring in one and a pretty girl in the other hand...
