Lyrics:

I hear a wind
Whistling air
Whispering in my ear

Boy mercury shooting through every degree
Oh, girl dancing down those dirty and dusty trails
Take it hip to hip, rocking through the wilderness
Around the world the trip begins with a kiss

Roam if you want to, roam around the world
Roam if you want to, without wings without wheels
Roam if you want to, roam around the world
Roam if you want to, without anything but the love we feel

Skip the air-strip to the sunset
Yeah, ride the arrow to the target one
Take it hip to hip, rock it through the wilderness
Around the world the trip begins with a kiss

Roam if you want to, roam around the world
Roam if you want to, without wings without wheels
Roam if you want to, roam around the world
Roam if you want to, without anything but the love we feel

Fly the great big sky, see the great big sea
Kick through continents bustin' boundaries
Take it hip to hip, rock it through the wilderness
Around the world the trip begins with a kiss

Roam if you want to, roam around the world
Roam if you want to, without wings without wheels
Roam if you want to, roam around the world
Roam if you want to, without anything but the love we feel

Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
Take it hip to hip rock it through the wilderness
great party, feel-good album this, often have it on loop
Fata Morgana. Fairy castles in the air like false land created by witchcraft to lure sailors to their deaths.
This one's not bad.  Doesn't sound like it's trying to be so eccentric.
Is this a remix?  The guitars sound much more up front than usual.

Too many good songs to pick a top:  Dry County, Loveshack (even if overplayed), Topaz, Junebug, Bushfire, Deadbeat Club, Follow Your Bliss, and of course Cosmic Thing are all great tracks.  A solid album front-to-back.

While I agree that this is off of Cosmic Thing from 1989, they had already "broken through" back in 1979 with their eponymous B-52s album.

worthy to put on the playlist - bill?
Play something from their debut and Wild Planet!

Exactly.  I'd love to hear more from their material with Ricky on guitar!

meaningless music can nonetheless be fun music!
This poor great song gets murdered in countless karaoke bars around the world....

 This song makes me happy!

Solid.
Lots of comment in 2002, nothing till 2012, then one a year??  The best of B52's was a staple in our car CD for years.  The kids loved it! We all loved it, though it did get a bit tedious after play 100 or so.  Still, a great driving album.

Yep

Still a 9 - verging on a 10 every time I hear it
Love this song.  But wasn't it first issued on Cosmic Thing?
They were simply the Best! {#Clap}
PSD sent me here!!!

I feel like this song was in a movie, only I\'m not sure which one...I want it to be from Dumb and Dumber, but it\'s not on the soundtrack...
It was post 1979. I was watching \"one trick pony\", an old Paul Simon Movie that chronicles a musician lonely life on the road. They show up in a bowling bar for another lack luster gig and there playing on the stage, for just a brief shot, is an early version of the b-52. I miss bieng young. Dot
I\'ve always thought of them as a more joyful, simpler (maybe superficial) version of the Talking Heads. Like them both, but can listen more often to the Heads. 6060-842 would be another nice B-52\'s song to play on RP.

I suppose this is true and I respect your opinion, I just find this song to be really annoying, but to each their own, right?

Just love Roam!!! Makes an EXCELLENT kareoke song too!!!
Don\'t ask me why, I\'m not sure that I could tell you, but I just love this song. A simple pleasure, an infrequent indulgence. Thanks for the fun, Bill!
