So glad for the PSD button else I don't think I would have heard this! Love it when RP turns the tempo up!

New 2022 format doesn't have last played or how frequently in the last 30 days on whichever mix.

Latest comment was a year prior to this comment.  Arriving via favorites myself.

This song has an incredible band and is excellent.

It's not even 3:30 on Monday.  Should I uncork the bottle of corn whiskey?

It's been over a year... Maybe it's time to bring back a little Foggy Mountain?
Very accomplished but I prefer old timey banjo to this modern style.

Love it just the same!

Joke also works with 'accordion'.

Jokes aside, I freakin' LOVE this. Them boys could pick a note or two...

Haven't heard this since I was a kid. AWESOME! Now that is variety in music. Thanks!!

Saw Earl at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in SF a few years ago.
Legend!
Wow...he's not missing a single note!
This is great stuff. Is that Vince Gill on the guitar?
From Velvet Underground to some nice Pickin' 'n Kickin' bluegrass, y'all at RP make a mighty fine playlist.
Mr. Flat to Mr. Scruggs one day sez " can't take them longhaired dope smokin' hippies in the band " Mr. Scruggs to Mr. Flat responds " them' my boy's , it has been interesting " end of Flat & Scruggs......
All we need now is Jed and Granny.

LOL!
Play, Daddy!  My father used to play this for me when I was a little girl.  Never forgotten. <3
He may not have been the expert picker as Mr. Scruggs, but he was my hero!

Love it. How about Bill Monroe and Bluegrass Boys' "Bluegrass Breakdown" sometime? Also features Scruggs (and Lester Flatt).
Top Shelf. Period!
Dang this rocks!
Oh Yeah!

The Jam to this, some Jerry Douglas earlier followed by Rolling Stones Girl with Faraway Eyes. I dare anyone out there to find another station that provides such a great eclectic mix of music.

The radio station I always wanted and had thought about as a DJ in college down in FL

Thanks again Bill.

From a continuous and loyal supporter.
That just kicks ass.
WOW!!!

Can't stop nodding head and tapping feet!

THANK YOU for playing this! Super happy now!
Went from a 9 to a 10 when the electric guitar kicked in.

At an 80th birthday party for Mr. Scruggs in 2004, country singer Porter Wagoner said, “Earl was to the five-string banjo what Babe Ruth was to baseball.”

Earl Eugene Scruggs (January 6, 1924 – March 28, 2012) RIP

It\'s to early for this BS. :(
not sure where this one is taking else, but we better slow the heck down!
Great song. Your audience seems to enjoy a little \'bluegrass break\'. You might consider playing Del McCoury. \'1952 Vincent Black Lightning\' is a good one.
Nice touch, (esp. after Springfield.)

sometimes music lands perfect...
woooooo hooooooooooo! Happy feet! It's nice to hear some "bluegrass" here on RP. I put bluegrass in quotes because this has some unusual instruments not found in traditional versions. It's enjoyable nonetheless.
He wrote it, so he can do it however he wants, but I think the original arrangement was better, somehow. I\'d have to compare side by side with this version but it sounds too modern. That probably just means it\'s nice and clean. The old 50s Flatt & Scruggs version is a tad grimy, I think. Anyway, it\'s still a solid 8. Y\'hafta be careful with country classics, \'cause lots of the old-timers re-record their stuff any time they change record labels.
What in tarnation?... Well, if you can play mainstream jazz on an "eclectic intelligent rock" station, then why not some mainstream bluegrass too?!? Go for it, Bill! I promise not to berate any more jazz tunes as long as you keep some of this in your rotation.
Yeah baby! Get out the jug juice and take yer shoes off, we\'re going for a fiddlin! Yeeeeeeee haw!
Granny, go get Uncle Jed! yeeeehaa!
I saw this guy in concert in Boston in 1978.
Now we\'re getting somewhere! This music is VERY popular where I live.
This will get you moving!!!
:D :D
Yeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaa! I\'m the first.
