You saw me standing by the wall, corner of a main street
And the lights are flashing on your window sill
All alone ain't much fun, so you're looking for the thrill
And you know just what it takes and where to go

Don't say a prayer for me now
Save it till the morning after
No, don't say a prayer for me now
Save it till the morning after

Feel the breeze deep on the inside, look you down into your well
If you can, you'll see the world in all his fire
Take a chance, like all dreamers can't find another way
You don't have to dream it all, just live a day

Don't say a prayer for me now
Save it till the morning after
No, don't say a prayer for me now
Save it till the morning after
Save it till the morning after
Save it till the morning after

Pretty looking road, I try to hold the rising floods that fill my skin
Don't ask me why I'll keep my promise, melt the ice
And you wanted to dance so I asked you to dance, but fear is in your soul
Some people call it a one night stand, but we can call it paradise

Don't say a prayer for me now
Save it till the morning after
No, don't say a prayer for me now
Save it till the morning after
Save it till the morning after
Save it till the morning after
Save it till the morning after
Save it till the morning after

Save a prayer till the morning after
Save a prayer till the morning after
Save a prayer till the morning after
Save a prayer till the morning after

I haven't heard this in a long time.  Thanx RP!
Now: autotune the singer to the backing.
Then: detune everything to mask the singer.
love this. i just read the lyrics for the first time. so good.
Haters are truly the silliest posters… didn’t your parents pr grandparents teach you the golden rule “don’t yuck someone else’s yum”
I've never given a 1 before. This song has always, IMHO, taken a spot on radio that a better quality song could have filled.
Another song from the past, newly dug out of its digital grave  (last song comment seven years ago!)- thank you once more.
I'm a complete music snob, but at the same time I'll defend the first 2 DD albums all day long.  You could argue that this is one of the weaker songs on Rio; there are some amazing rail songs with clever musical twists.  New Religion & the Chauffer are examples of their incredible musical ability when they were young lads.
Save it till the morning after?

No, please save it for when I'm not listening. Everything about Duran Duran seems contrived and inorganic.
Nostalgia & memories of 'Night Tracks' on Superstation WTBS guide my heart and hand...

=7=
Yes DD broke first on Album Rock Radio
Awesome Bill, and I don't know who thinks it does not fit with RP.  It is brilliant and it keeps me smiling.

I know, right?  Not gonna lie, I gave this a 10 for about the same reason... I used to LOVE Duran Duran so much when I was a kid.  Memories!

I just came back into my office, heard this, and thought "That can't be Duran Duran." But it was. What a fun blast from the past. Thanks Radio Paradise!

Yeah, the MTV that actually played music.
Yes everybody before they got huge Duran Duran was only played on album rock radio
yay! another idea for my ~music to f(& to~ playlist.
Never cared for Duran Duran. Simon's voice is lame.
I'm sure you're playing this with a heavy dose of irony, but I've gotta say, I'm happy that you did! When I was eight years old, I wanted so much to dye my hair brown in the back and blonde in the front because Simon LeBon just looked so cool. hahaha. Thank God I had a mother who put a stop to that idea.

I don't want to start hearing this in heavy rotation or anything, but I have to say that I always liked this song and enjoy hearing it occasionally. To automatically poo poo a song just because it's by Duran Duran -- or any particular group or performer -- is closed-minded. I would say this fits in well with what we regular RP listeners seem to like. But like I said -- I don't want to start hearing it all the time. ;)
my thoughts exactly!
word play set? Is something else with "Save" in the title next?
THANKS FOR PLAYING!

Gotta be... or then RP is REALLY, REALLY eclectic.

You mean there was a time where they actually played music on MTV?

AMEN. What a monotonous song. UGGGGH will it end already?!!?!?
Mmmm....the stench of new romantic 80's....that synth sound...makes me hungry like a wolf.... I like it for retro-quasi-kitsch nostalgic reasons...I think.....
"WARNING, Will Robinson! WARNING!"

Add me to the "lots of memories with this one" club.

I couldn't stand (or sit) quietly by -- this was my first '2' (usually if I don't like something, I just don't rate em -- out of respect for the artist actually) but this one takes the cake for me. Please, go real slow on playing those Duran Duran 'songs'. Thanks, Shari
Nice "oldie"

Yeah I was seeing this girl who was nuts about Duran Duran. Actually she was just nuts. Her mom used to let me sleep over :)
Eeewwwwwww...Where'd THAT come from? This *might* be one of their better ones, but....EEEESH! :-s
Stands the test of time. Nice!
I Iike their old stuff better than their new stuff............

I made a video to this song when I was in high school! Ah, memories...

Their best song, IMO.
This song has always annoyed me, even back when I liked most Duran Duran.
Maybe its nostalgia, but I STILL love this song.

They reached it before you were born.

Oh my God, was not expecting this after "La Femme D'Argent" by Air. I'm 13 again and madly in love with Simon LeBon.... ...20 years later it's kind of nice to hear!
Please No. Stop that warbling sound... no not LeBons weak voice, that strange warbling theme that runs through this terribly hohum if not worse song.
cool tune pretty video :D

Remember singing along to that when I must have been about 13 and not having any idea what they were talking about! Great to hear the song again though, it reminds me of the time when I wore a bad frilly shirt and velvet knickerbockers to their gig in Sydney (it was 1983)....and knew every word to their first two albums

Absolutely crucial point. And an area where Bill and RP are so skilled.
This song fits RP well. Always liked this one. \"Rio\" and \"Hungry...\" are guilty pleasures. Not, too me, as guilty: \"Wild Boys\" or \"All She Wants Is\", both probably over the RP line, but I wouldn\'t mind hearing them in a late night set. Btw, cannot stand \"Reflex\", \"Union of the Snake\" stuff. Quite the polarizing band I suppose, even for some of us who like some of their stuff. ;)

Yep. Except I just turned 50. Just hearing it now was like a breath of fresh air. But, then, most of what I hear on RP has that affect on me.
I thought Duran Duran was done done. Please kill them off now.
Ugh. Just as sucky now.
The best song DD ever did.
i always dug this tune. one of 3 duran duran that i enjoy.
Not too crazy about the whole 80\'s Duran-Duran thing but I like some of their songs and I think this song fits in the mix nicely. Even though I think that the 80\'s are not my favorite decade in music some great tunes have been put out in that period. I still don\'t dig the whole hair/makeup/attitude 80\'s thing though. Drum machines, lots of cheap synths and solid-state guitar amps lots are more of the things 80\'s music seemed to suffer from. Musically the 80\'s post-punkrock development of music is interesting. Although when it comes down to it I\'m more of a blues-rock kinda person.
Good choice. Duran Duran\'s first 2 albums contain some really good songwriting.

:) :) :) Great band, great song, but I guess... only for us in our 30's...
EVERYTHING IS SKIPPING!!!! GET THE HAIR OUT OF THE CD PLAYER!!!! (GOOD SONG)
This must be a cruel joke, right Bill?
Not a huge fan, but they had a few good songs and this was definitely one of them. Also a really nice video, with lots of aerial photography of pyramids (or something like that) in South or Central America.
