A Great CD,  not a bad song start to finish!

Agreed, they remain interesting.

Am really liking this
Just sitting at my desk designing yet another marketing piece and this ethereal music comes on and I know..... it's Big Head Todd and the Monsters.    There's something very smooth, Steely Dan-like, about their music.   Like fine champagne....    (sigh......)

Thanks RP..  I needed something to inspire me for the next hour!!!

{#Clap}
BHTM have seemed really reenergized on tour lately. Worth checking out anytime they are playing near you.

Back in the 80s I totalled a car to "Walk like an Eygptian" now that's embarssing...

Laughing myself into hiccups over this. Sorry about your car, chasbro - and thanks for the laugh, Businessgypsy! {#Group-hug}

Ok, that beats all comments past and future! I wrecked a car once, but have NO idea what was playing. Do know what was playing when my ex walked out the door....READY?..."Stand By Me". For reals.

Wish my guitars sounded this good.

If I'm not mistaken, the location of the photo is Sioux City, IA (but I'm not 100%). Sioux City certainly doesn't have a sprawl problem.

actually.. the photo credits on the album says Todd took that himself.. as well as the rest of them on the jacket..

A non sequitur, I'm hoping for your sake.

Anybody hear these guys playing before and after Hillary Clinton spoke at the DNC last night? It was the only thing that I actually paid attention to, actually.

Pretty cool song

Got the new one free with a purchase of "Strategem" and a live video. Live, BHTM definitely rock.

Lucky Europe.

All time favorite band. Period. Every song's amazing, from the late '80s to the new album out now. And live, they're absolutely incredible -- check them out.

Having seen him in a small bar in Boulder, CO, I can say that he is a big man. His head (the one on his shoulders) didn't seem abormally large. Can't say anything about the other one, though. 8-)

Big Head / Little Head ... A huge muscular man walks into a bar and orders a beer. The bartender hands him the beer and says, "You know, I'm not gay but I want to compliment you on your physique, it really is phenomenal! I have a question though, why is your head so small?" The big guy nods slowly. He's obviously fielded this question many times. "One day," he begins, "I was hunting when I got lost in the woods. I heard someone crying for help and finally realized that it was coming from a frog sitting next to a stream. So I picked up the frog and it said, "Kiss me. Kiss me and I will turn into a genie and grant you 3 wishes." So I looked around to make sure I was alone and gave the frog a kiss. POOF! The frog turned into a beautiful, voluptuous, naked woman. She said, "You now have 3 wishes." I looked down at my scrawny 115 pound body and said, "I want a body like Arnold Schwarzenneger." She nodded, whispered a spell, and POOF! there I was, so huge that I ripped out of my clothes and was standing there naked! She then asked, "What will be your second wish?" I looked hungrily at her beautiful body and replied, "I want to make sensuous love with you here by this stream." She nodded, laid down, and beckoned to me. We then made love for hours! Later, as we lay there next to each other, sweating from our glorious lovemaking, she whispered into my ear, "You know, you do have one more wish. What will it be?" I looked at her and replied, "How about a little head?"
I wonder if Todd has heard this joke?

I'm not sure I'd agree with this, but I do agree that the two bands compliment one another rather well. I actually saw The Dave Matthews Band and Big Head Todd & the Monsters back in 1996 at Penn State. What a GREAT show that was... back before either band really made it very big. The show was in a mostly empty gym, and I think the tickets were only 10 bucks.
I saw the same lineup in ' 96 in Salem, OR. What a great show. DMB, in particular, was a different (much better) band prior to all the fame, but Big Head Todd has always kept it real.
awesome album, awesome car
Love that Todd and his sweet guitar, especially on Runaway Train. Go, Todd!
Much better than Def Leppard's version of Hysteria...
nice pick, hadn't heard this one before
A friend of mine went streaking with Big Head in high school. Hmmm...don't know if the name reflects any part of the anatomy or not...
reminded me of Foo Fighters... and then Bill plays some FF, also one of their (very) few good songs.

Well, to close your eyes to, anyway. Decent at best. Filler material, per usual.
Great music to close your eyes and go with the flow. Nice slow burn. Todd is a god.

Never heard of the band let alone of the tune. Yes, I live under a rock. It's definitely my cuppa. Liked it right off.

Awesome song and even better live, as is most BHTM. See them if you ever get a chance -- they rock!!
This is quite lovely. First thing I've heard from them that made an impression, although I still can't say they offer anything new. Just trying to be objective here.
"Sister Sweetly" is a very good album haven't heard enough of the new one yet but sounds good so far. I'm a big fan.
Sounds like D. Matthews, but slightly better... Bands like this and that blowfish didn't make it across the ocean to Europe much, so for me at least it's unfamiliar, as opposed to something like REM...
Saw these guys at Red Rocks back in 1995/96 and was blown away by the fullness of their sound with only three band members. Been a fan ever since.

More Big Head!!
HAS A NICE FEEL, UNFORTUNATELY IT REMINDS ME OF HOOTIE AND THE BLOWFISH. BHTM IS BETTER THOUGH, LIKE A 7.
Great song! I can\'t get enough of BHTM - simply TOP SHELF!
One of my favorite bands! Thanks RP!
Can always count on RP for most excellent music that I would never have sought out otherwise (being personally a bit on the \"World Music/Folklorico/New Accoustic/Jazz Fusion/Ambient/Dance Techno\" fringe )But when it comes to raw talent and more essential Rock, as well as the very best of genres you didn\'t even know you would like, RP is a truly great educator.
best thing i\'ve heard from them since the debut
This song is why I love RP. Keep up the great work! :)
BOOYAH BOOYAH BOOYAH!!! I love BHTM to depths unknown, and talk about a GREAT show! The music really becomes appreciated live. Todd Park Mohr is simply a beast when he has a guitar in his hands. Super work Mr. Programmer!

Saw Big Head Todd in 1993 and thought they kicked major ass. I\'ve been a fan ever since. Thanks for playing cool music!!!
I\'m so glad to hear this new stuff! Major record labels can suck so bad, these guys fought through that storm and are still making some of the best stuff out there!
