Lightness, lightness Be my swansong! Sing anything, anything or something- To fill the emptiness of this version. Please hide the emptiness right now.

Please, Please, Please --- there are many better versions of this song -- ones that don't sound like the lyrics are being read off a sheet of paper. This is my spiritual theme-song and this band is killing it. Please, give us JCY or Robert Plant or Phil Upchurch. Thanks much.
Again, yes, you are so right!
This song sounds confused.

There's nothing dark about this version of Darkness, Darkness; and, to me, little feeling of any kind comes across. Perhaps I've just heard better versions - although not frequently enough. I'm a big lover of female vocalists - and perhaps in a different song I'd like this one, but not here.
I totally agrree. Depressing! As wooden as a robot! How do they manage to convey so little emotion??? The original moves me. With this one, I just admire the instrumental work.
To grab some thoughts from those below: Wooden, teleprompter, no darkness, no feeling... I\'d be happy to not hear this again.

I like this song and this version of it, but I don\'t want to hear it every day.

I agree, althought i think the song is weak. what kind of headphones are you using? I have a Radio Shack special (made by Koss) and they sound great.

Very well said. The instrumental tracks sound good; but the vocalist is wooden. (see definition 2)

incredibly good headphone music
Has anyone heard Robert Plant's version of this? They're playing it quite a bit on KPIG these days. First time I heard it I didn't realize it was him until half way through! Pretty good version, too.
I thought no one could do better than JCY and his boyz! Wow, another band I\'m gonna have to check out. Thanx Bill. Samiyam
I\'m compelled to comment again on this song and this band. I have been listening to this cd at home, with earphones and the complex music is incredible. Good thing I live alone though, as I was \"sink dancing\" last night whilst washing dishes. 8-}
I\'m a big Youngbloods fan but I really like this cover.
alright for a celtic sounding song. BTW, I'm an marine engineer and the association I have with the name "Solas" is Safefty Of Lives At Sea...........
Wonderful cover of a great tune. I really like what they've done with it. You're right Doc. The violin is a great touch.
Never heard this song, AFAIK, but I couldn\'t help but notice the similarity between the melody on the Darkness Darkness verses and parts of the Steely Dan\'s Do It Again. Anyone else notice the similarity?
I\'m so glad to hear Solas here! They are a truly magnificant band. Check out their earlier cds, with a different (but still excellent) line-up. I\'ve seen them twice live and they amaze. And they fit in perfectly at RP!
