Recent years were unsung
I light 'em up
Burning my horoscope
Recent fears I've undone
I give 'em up
Sick of my bogus ghost
Rising up it reached my highest line
C'mon Daisy don't drown me this time

I'm living in fits can't get myself ripped
Don't make me no criminal
I'm easily moved, it don't leave me no room
Don't make me no criminal
Rising up it reached my highest line
I had bad ideas and ballast on my mind

Now the sparks are gonna fly
'cos I'm turned on again
Burning up the future
I'm taking off
I'm taking off

Recent fears about love
I string 'em up
These are my robust ropes
There'll be no more tears I'm unplugged
Let's live it up
Easy come easy go
Falling down gave me my highest line
So c'mon Daisy don't drown me this time

Now the sparks are gonna fly
'cos I'm turned on again
Burning up the future
I'm taking off
I'm taking off

Falling down I reached my highest line
I've got a good idea what breaks you makes you shine

Now the sparks are gonna fly
'cos I'm turned on again
Burning up the future
Now the sparks are gonna fly
'cos I'm turned on again
Turning on the boosters
I'm taking off
I'm taking off
(so c'mon Daisy don't drown me this time)

GREAT TUNE!!
I like it! ...and I also expect to hear this in a 'modern tango' on the next Dancing With The Stars.
Another first for me here at RP. This is pretty hot.  Perhaps this is why my desktop speakers seem to be exuding smoke.

Indeed!
YEAH, thumping beat and fuzzy guitar get ready to stomp around the house

Not their best track by any means - there are several better ones on this album alone - but I‘m always excited to hear Catherine Wheel on RP.

I can hear that but I thought of a slightly pop-oriented Trent Reznor. But what do I know.

Disagree. Lead singers sound very alike. Similar music as well.

I'm an elderly whiner to some, but this I like.

PS Sometimes I miss the old Stingray..............but not often.
Sparks are flying around here, baby!
Oh, hell yeah! Love these guys.
Rolling along, great sound! Music I mean!
Everyone at the Head Bangers Ball is doing the waltz!  Never seen anything like it

Volume way up...no torture for these ears..
verrrry interrrrresting

Well, you gotta love a band that names itself after an ancient torture-device (kinda like Steely Dan naming itself after a dildo in "Naked Lunch.")  This has a great beat, I can understand the lyrics, I can dance to it... Giving it a 7, with potential.  {#Dancingbanana}

Doing a little dance in your memory Cyn'!

Surprisingly tedious.

This is fun. Sparks flying here.
Wow, where'd this come from... ah... I see, the year 2000 — my milleneium blackout. This kinda... ...really... ROCKS! {#Dancingbanana_2}

Living Things
YES - this is for me!
THIS IS....."IT"...!

"LIVE" a revolution!!!
PS
Not "THE THE" and I can go to sleep happily!

Has just a bit of energy ya' think?
Look, I'm a HUGE Catherine Wheel and Rob Dickinson fan, but this is not one of their better songs or albums.  I saw them twice on this, their swan song tour and they still had the goods live.  Anything on 'Adam & Eve' beats this by a mile.  Still, I can't remember the last time I heard Catherine Wheel on the radio, so...
This is another "good pair of headphones required" songs.

{#Bananajam}This song rocks!!
Damn with those opening chords I thought we were getting some Slipknot.....

Anyone know if they took their name from the early 80s David Byrne album?

They both took the name from a medieval torture device, also known as a "breaking wheel".  There is also a firework with the same name, from which "sparks do fly" when lit.

And they did fly! Where's the extinguisher!?
bang bang bang bang.......bang bang bang....refrain
Moved up from 8 to a 9. F* ROCKIN'!!

Perhaps I'll need to hear this many more times. . .but in my 5 years of listening to RP, this is the first song that has caused me to actually hit the stop button until I see a new song pop up.

I hope it gets better after repeated listens.

Almost guaranteed.

Truly an overlooked band
Not really that overlooked. This song rocks, but the rest of the album not so much.

Holy Smokes. Wowing my ears!
Truly an overlooked band
I don't understand all the deep anger and resentment here. I dig it.

good one. i'd love to spin fire to this song.

May I suggest "Mad Dog" from this album. It's by far the best track.
Agreed. Whenvever I introduce one of my friends to The Catherine Wheel, I always play Mad Dog; I have yet to find someone that doesn't fall in love with that song.
Got a good beat. Y' can dance to it.
Man!!! I got to say what I've heard of Catherine Wheel here I really like!!

The instrumentation sounds like bad Soundgarden leftovers.

This is a great album opener, but there are Catherine Wheel tracks which are much better. What about \"Lifeline\", or \"Way down\", or just about anything off \"Chrome\"?

I can envision myself quietly going mad to this song. :p
