Joey...
Baby...
Don't get crazy
Detours, fences...
I get defensive....

I know you've heard it all before
So I don't say it anymore
I just stand by and let you
Fight your secret war

And though I used to wonder why
I used to cry till I was dry
Still sometimes I get a strange pain inside
Oh Joey if you're hurting so am I

Joey...
Honey...
I've got the money

All is forgiven. Listen....listen...

But if I seem to be confused
I didn't mean to be with you.
And when you said I scared you
Well, I guess you scared me too
But we got lucky once before
And I don't want to close the door
And if you're somewhere out there
Passed out on the floor...

Oh...
Joey, I'm not angry anymore

And if I seem to be confused
I didn't mean to be with you.
And when you said I scared you
Well I guess you scared me too...

But if it's love you're looking for
Then I can give a little more
And if you're somewhere drunk and
Passed out on the floor...

Oh...
Joey, I'm not angry anymore
Angry anymore, angry anymore

The Joey Bishop Show (1961)

Now that I've been watching reruns of classic TV, this song reminds me of this Joey.  The original theme was this taunting "Joey, Joey, Joey".
Christ, it gets a 7 for Johnettes vocal alone.
And it always will.

You are, without a doubt, completely crazy.

I fell in love with Johnette Napolitano's voice the first time I heard it.
And this was the first song I heard from this band, so I am a bit prejudiced.

This is, without a doubt, the worst song on RP's playlist.
Weird...I see an inordinate number of days in this song's play history that end in 4 (04,14,24).

In other news, personal note to never listen to Concrete Blonde by choice.
Sure wish The Vampire Song was in the RP music library. Reminds me of the days of dressing in all black. But then again so does this one.
I think the song is OK! Somewhat has the same melody as that Heart song about the "one-night stand" In fact the more I listen, I wonder who ripped off who?
this is, without a doubt, the greatest song ever
Boooooo!!! /homer

I 2nd that hurl.  This song is STILL in regular rotation on WXRT in Chicago, and it's an immediate "button-pusher" when I hear that intro.  Why must we hear it here???????????

this is, without a doubt, the worst song ever.

Sorry, but I love this song. I agree that the album has better cuts and those songs deserve more airplay, but this song has intriguing lyrics that give another view of a bad situation. I may not agree with them, but they are an interesting perspective.
joey is the name of my siamese fighting fish, whom i rescued from the evil petcetera. he almost died a week after i got him cause they sold him to me sick, and didn't tell me. luckily i was able to save him. heh. this song makes me chuckle because when i hear it i can't stop thinking about my fish! it's like a song reminding you of your dog. heh.
you won't understand why, because i can't form words adequate to explain... but, thanks.
egabrag rettu...!
ah yes, quite nostalgic. I remember when this song was released to radio. ha. I'm not THAT old though.
Good song, except for that cheesball guitar solo!
years later, and i still cannot make myself appreciate this song. <-( <-( <-(
Overplayed or not, I reward a great song with an 8.
song is good, way too overplayed (goes w/out saying)

This is one of the worst songs heard anywhere...

"Caroline" is a much better cut, for example.

I can see the Heart, though I\'m now thinking it\'s a little more towards Berlin. Marginal at best.
Right, not one of their better songs. Although after almost an hour and a half of all-male singers/ bands, this was refreshing. I think this was a token woman/female singer to break it up the balance a bit. (16:1 ratio). Upward and Onward Y'All !!!

This did, by about a year. I can't say I really hear the connection. I'd have to agree with the person who said "great album lousy song choice", though this is hardly bad. The two songs that bracket this on the Bloodletting CD ("Lullabye" and "Tomorrow Wendy"), though, are stunners that put this to shame.

Mercy! You're right--on both counts. Ugh
I keep expecting to hear \"all I want to do is make love to you\" (or whatever it\'s called) by Heart. That\'s NOT a compliment.
This song was SO overplayed when it came out. How about \"Still In Hollywood\" instead?
Thanks so much for adding this to the Playlist! It reminds of a some good friends back in the ol\' college town .....
