Of course like Frankie gtH bird noises!
2.43  on a grey wintery afternoon and I was transported to  being sat on warm sand looking at the sun sparkled sea

Peter Gabriel. Genesis dates to the seventies which Peter Gabriel fronted before Phil Collins.
And maybe even could’ve been Paul Simon with that African great sound

I remember hearing the Afro Celt Sound system here in Britain on the Mike Harding Folk show BBC many years ago when they first started performing.  Love it.
Absolutely transcendent

Yes!
Anyone else want to hear this at red rocks?   :)

I like ACSS -- soothing. I like to do yoga and stretches while listening -- slows down everything. Thank you!

Very much like it
Applying the dimo
Before playing, you got to put on a dimo (membrane). The dimo goes over the mokong hole (membrane hole). Other flutes around the world do not have a mokong hole, which is one of the unique parts about the chinese flute - you can choose the sound that it makes by changing the dimo.

Naw! You're sitting on the back porch, smoking a fine cigar and sipping 50 year old scotch. You're enjoying the cool evening zephyrs blowing thru' your hair. You're watching the Mourning Dove feed while they're cooing and having dinner on the ground. Mellow .......... say "Mellow" .......... can you say ........ "Mellow. What the hell! Tomorrow's Monday! Go away, I'm becoming one with the universe .....!"

As the flute lightly calls out "Yoo Hoo -- Boo Hoo", I creep slowly up the side of the mesa and gaze at the mystical sight of a strange living meat sack wearing only a diaper; windy flatulence fluttering the ocher buttcrack flap. And the flute continues to trill. Swiftly, I approach the flautist as he/she deterministically purses full lips upon the silver SakuHachi. I quickly channel Avril and Pink and Yoko and Bette .....

I dunno. I find ACSS to be very unique. Where else are you going to find a blend as diverse as them? They were thought to be the pioneers of this sound when they formed. On that note, I would like to hear some Kaya Project sometime. More of an Indian influence, but just as delcious. One of their better cuts from this album. Most Excellent.
Agree on all points.

You know, as much as I like the Afro Celts, there is a LOT of other music out there similar to this that doesn't get played. . .so why just this one "signature" band for the celtic-type music?

Sounds pretty cool, though through the intro I couldn't help but think we were approaching the climactic scene in a John Hughes movie.
Lovely. Been a long time. Fits well into the current instrumental set.
THIS IS COOL!
absolutely fantastic
Personally, I can never get to much of Afrocelts,(as they now style themselves) quiet and meditative or rockin out. Just the kind of stuff I\'d be uploading, but Bill beat me to this one.
In the first 30 seconds or so, I liked it a lot and had high hopes that it would be adding more ideas as it went. Then, it didn\'t go anywhere else for the whole song. By the end, it was down to a 5.
Nice... very nice

Can't say I know that much about their music - and I typically don't care for NewAge, but this song is very good. Takes me somewhere...
