That's why I installed a speaker simulator plugin in XMMS, it mixes some of the sound of the right channel into the left channel with a small delay, and vice versa... Actually it were Beatles songs which made me do this :)

There's nothing worse than when a song like this one starts off entirely in the left channel and you're wearing headphones...it feels like your right ear is being sucked into a vacuum. Ouch -- I hate when that happens... Oh, yeah -- the rest of the song doesn't suck your brains out, but it's not that good, either.

This isn't Jethro Tull?--What about the flute and the tempo? I am sure the labeling is wrong! :?: Please explain this!--Turns out that the "Now Playing" was not updated in time, and the song I was hearing was Reasons for Waiting by Jethro Tull. Actually, alot of the songs seem to deal with watching a friend destroy themselves. For instance, in "Wither" (another track which get RP play) he sings, "fill the hole with the single perforation, makes the mountains big from where I'm sitting" and later..."a miracle is what I'm asking, to open up to the world your living, if just for a day". There's another song called "Pilot" which referenced the Icarus story. That story, of course, is about someone who is killed after reaching for something they were admonished from doing. The album was recorded as part of a plan to keep Blind Melon going, but didn't pan out. Songs are not all about losing friends to hopeless situations, but the references are there and often.

ok. i really like this sound. then i read the similarities to blind melon...and it changed what i was thinking. isn\'t that funny? still like it, but i wasn\'t thinking the similarities between the sound and blind melon. in fact, i was on a totally different tangent. music can do that to ya. in any case, i liked this sound. i\'ve had the cd for about a year and never listened to it (gift)...now, i will! :)
