You are still a whisper on my lips
A feeling at my fingertips
That's pulling at my skin

You leave me when I'm at my worst
A feeling as if I've been cursed
Bitter cold within

Days go by and still I think of you
Days when I couldn't live my life without you
Days go by and still I think of you
Days when I couldn't live my life without you
Without you

This caught my attention in a negative, knee-jerk reflexive reaction to a cover that's distinctly different than the original...or what I thought was the original.  Turns out this is apparently the original?  And knee-jerk reactions are valid, but need to be considered.  I still don't really care for this version, but sounds like others did, so I'm glad it exists.
Boy, though the original is good, I just can't get enough of this acoustic version. Ahhhhh.

This title needs to return to the section reviewing, for at least six months, to see what your panel of 'expert and very selective reviewers' , 30 or 40 members, has to say or vote on these performances...

Just crazy for sick minds. This song reveals the moment of decay across the world of music, like all Ga Ga that roam around. Diversity  and ecletic does not explain everything, while, in parallel, RP is "deaf ears" to the music of renowned quality, but from other sources than the American "fashion" market. This is the drug of today. Bahhhh. RP, do not go there ......

** 2 **

This version is a little boring—the original (non-acoustic) is much better...
Very unmemorable .. no need to play this again ,,

But in this case, "if it don't need fixed, break it." Yuuccchhh.
{#Ask}don't know what i think about this song...maybe it's not that good

Crowded House singer?
I can't believe you went to mitsu site to get the price :D
The Mitsubishi Eclipse. Nicely equipped at $21,475. I like the club remix a little better, but this isn't bad.
This song just strikes me as a "why bother"? Nothing unique, notable, striking, unpleasant anything special about it. It just is.

I actually thought it was Neil at 1st.
Not that it would be unexpected, of course. Neil is no stranger to RP. Yes, I heard it too.
I actually thought it was Neil at 1st. shakitten wrote:
Anybody else hear traces of a Finn? Nice cover...I like both versions. This sounds a bit more intense, though.
Great tune. As someone else mentioned, the above link is incorrect.

I wish they'd redo the Mitsubishi commercial or the video using this version, maybe with those pop-locking dancers sitting around all melancholy.
That's a picture!

Bah! Tuned into RP today only to miss this spectacular version of a great (if slightly overexposed) tune.
I really like this song (both versions) I didn' like the rest of the album :(
Love the original, don't love the acoustic version quite as much but still like it a lot. And I'm impressed with this group for recording both. I wish they'd redo the Mitsubishi commercial or the video using this version, maybe with those pop-locking dancers sitting around all melancholy.

God help me, but I love the techno version. . . and this one too. I am more embarassed to admit this than to say I love ABBA. Oy vey.
No reason to be ebarassed. It's a good tune. It got beat around a bit a few years ago in mainstream media, but that's no less reason to like it.

Totally agree.

I really like the techno version, but this one is great too. I did a mix combining the two versions and the combo was ausome. I dont think RP played the entire acustic song though. It is much longer.
I prefer this version, even though it leans toward the Creed/Live camp.

Well, if you're gonna get technical... I guess I was wailing that day. PMS? Probably not - I'm a dude. Just seems to be a plethora of acoustic guitar on RP and not so much trance/trip hop/club music. Of course, at the moment, Elliott Smith's "Waltz #2" is playing, and that song's a masterpiece, so I'm fresh out of complaints.

I'm not sure what 'tortous' means (tortoise? tortuous? torturous?), but that comment made me laugh anyhow.
the whole album is very, very, very good.
Always happy when this tune comes up in the playlist.
No thanks.
Love both versions of this song. I always thought it did a wonderful job of using minimal lyrics for maximum effect. Just several lines repeated, and yet it paints a picture. There are always images conjured when I hear this song.
I like this version ... at first I thought it was one of the Finn brothers singing then I heard the chorous and I got what it was / who it was Very nice... shows that they more talent I gave them credit for
Yes. RP keeps playing great tunes this morning. Makes me happy and keeps me posting :) surreal1221 wrote:

Sorry to dissent this time, but yeah, this sucks. Paltry lyrics, slightly-above average vocals, but it's a crime to remove the electronics. And shame on everyone who pretends they like acoustic folk better than electronica. Your posts on one-quarter of all other RP songs says otherwise.
Gotta back you up here, T. I'm not a big fan of the original version, but this just does not work.

Well put together, I like it almost as much, and in some ways more than the original!
Isn't Dirty and Vegas a bit redundant? Mitsubishi should use the juiced-down version to sell their new electronic hybrids.

I thought I heard a touch of Neil Finn here. Sounds good to me!
You got it... I knew who this was so I knew it wasn't NF. His voice isn't exactly the same but he uses it in very similar ways... especially in the verses. The guitar playing reminds one of NF as well. This song is very well done...
Dirty Vegas! Dirty , naughty Vegas! She must be spanked!
Phew! Dirty Vegas. Thought it was Train for a minute.
It's a good album if you like what you've heard so far. I like to listen to it on road trips especially. iggy33 wrote:
Don't know DV..how's the rest of the album..?
I have to disagree. It's better than nothing, but the attention's all on the straining voice and not the melancholic instrumentation that really made the original version of the song for me.
A third for soooo much better than the rocker version!

I like it. Being different is what I like best about radioparadise and the music.
Damn car commercial ruined this song for me. Beh.
Oh... I like this
This is so wrong. This song without the electronic backbeats is horrible...
Nice re-rendering... kind of like \"Live\"... except not really, then kind of like someone else.... but... no.... sigh. I need to go to bed. I liked it.
Ok ok, just so everyone understands. There\'s no remix, no Mitsubishi version, no dance mix. There are, however, two versions of this song, and both of them are album versions. The upbeat, techno-ish one is the one that got released as the single, and the one that was featured on the Mitsubishi commercial.
Wow. sounds different. Didn\'t know it was the same band. It is odd because I heard Dirty Vegas perform this song live on some show (Late Night or something) and it sounded just like the techno dance version rather than this acoustic version.
This was really quite strange. So, the question is, is this an acoustic song that became a dance mix, or a dance mix that became acoustic? I am strangely intrigued.
OOO, this is excellent.
I really like this acoustic version! :D
In case you guys are wondering, there are two versions on the album. The one that always gets played (with the beat, and on the video) is the \"Mitsbushi Mix\", featured in the Eclipse US commercials.
good to see I\'m not the only one freaked out...
Bill, you\'re freaking me out: I know this as a dance track (with a very cool video - guy dancing on the sidewalk, people stop to watch him, someone says the dancer does this every year on the same day - know the one?), and a darn good one, so what is this? Is this the original version? (and the CDNow link is no help - they reckon it\'s from a car ad!!!)
This entire album is going up on my top 10 list for 2002. Although I am a bit of techno-nut I actually prefer this acoustic version to the \"Mitsubishi Mix\". There are several decent acoustics on this album, and is really worth checking out. I really like the liner notes, which sort of indicate the whole band/album was a bit of a fluke... a good one if you ask me.
rather hear the upbeat version and that\'s overplayed.
This is one of the most bizarre things I have ever heard. Just a slight departure from the original?? I think I like both.
