Well I keep holdin' on to yesterday
I keep holdin' on enough to say
That I'm wrong

I keep thinkin' that I'm lonely
But it's only missing you inside
Days that we were once together
Seems they'll never come alive

So I keep holdin' on to yesterday
I keep holdin' on enough to say
That it's wrong

Lord I don't know when I'll see you
I can't reach you anymore
If I'd only known I'd need you
Then I'd keep you like before

I keep holdin' on to yesterday
I keep holdin' on enough to say
That I'm wrong, wrong, wrong
To keep holdin' on
My yesterdays have all gone by

Nothing wrong with Pablo Cruise! Crisp, clear, melodic California music.

I must admit to being so old I got a chuckle out of that reference.

Love!!!!
Soundtrack to the worst breakup I ever had.. It was amazing how this song came out just at that time. Damn damn damn.
I love this song. Play it fairly frequently.
It's also my go-to song to remove earworms!

Do dig it out.  I did a couple of months ago and ripped it and play side one which has this track on it somewhat regularly now.  Great musicianship and engineering on this album.  Never did come out on CD, except for one high priced Japanese release a few years ago.  Safe to call this a vinyl only album.

A 70s soft rock masterpiece!
Ohhhhh the teen angst spent listening to this.
The cut that got the most airplay, at least where I was, was "Nice, Nice, Very Nice".

I just checked and it's in the RP library, but last played 10 years ago.
Released in 75?  That cannot be 45 years old.
Hear touches of Wishbone Ash from the Front Page News album and Pink Floyd all mixed up... Love it. Solid 9
Those guys could really sing.
Not sure how this one got by me...It's got the 1975 feels. Not bad.
What a blast from the past! So cool.
When this first started, I thought "Steely Dan?"
WOW!!! What a fantastic way to start the day! Never expected to hear this on RP - but I’m glad I did.
Oh no!  The wikipedia page points to the food ambrosia, not the band
Nice! Rare gem for sure

Just be sure to stop before you get to Leo Sayer.  ; )
There is actual video of this band doing this tune live in 1976 on YouTube  --https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Man, I thought  you were referring to the Stanley Theater in Utica, NY. Great theater. I'm not too proud to say that among more illustrious artists (Dylan, Dave Mason, many more) I saw my first concert there. Yes, it was Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show in 1972. And I took my older sister's hot friend. Thanks for the memory!
Delicious Ambrosia {#Cheers}

Oh man, I love Gino Vanelli. That's a great idea.  Bill, I see you don't have any Gino in the rotation.  Maybe give us one? Three? Regardless, keep up the good work.

Their first two albums were brilliant and the third had some great moments. One of the most under-rated bands. Tremendous players and with Alan Parsons involved on the first two there was some very magical moments- very ambitious. The band also played on a lot of the tracks on the first Parsons album Tales...

Wow you jogged the old memory banks.  I saw the same tour at Santa Monica Civic.
Odd story:  There was a fellow that worked next to us here at an aircraft company.  He came over and an Ambrosia song was playing.  He told me that's him singing backround vocals.  Royce Jones.   Kinds floored me.  Real cool dude.  Still singing with other bands to this day.
Me hearing the start of this one:  "This isn't actually RP playing Ambrosia is it"?  Kind of amazing which tunes will-and-won't be played by an artist.  This was painful.  But I guess "How much I feel" was just too overplayed for decades.
 I saw countless shows at the Stanley when I was in college. I haven't thought of that place in years.

Lucky Man! {#High-five}
Fine song..indeed
One of the best albums of 1975
This song reminds me of a hot July day , vacuuming a pool at my parents house and being 14 years old. Crackly radio playing in the background....

It's a great song.  I can appreciate it even more now than when it first came out, which is the ultimate test!
I know you're projecting your secret love for Pablo Cruise, but don't go knocking legitimately good songs.
I wish RP would find and play more hidden gems like this!

Nice tune...I always enjoyed Lover Arrive. .  . so romantic with excellent piano
I tried to use it for my ring tone, but to no avail...

agreed. wikipedia captured some of this sentiment too:

Ambrosia fused symphonic art rock with a slick produced pop sound, resulting in a "melodic prog" style.

Early on, the band was infatuated with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and began to experiment with vocal harmonies. After the group attended a show at the Whisky a Go-Go in December 1969 to see an unknown but highly recommended new band called King Crimson, their perception of music was changed.

this band is TIGHT!  super blast from way back

Suddenly feel like a kid again.
Holy cow, Batman! Have we just gone back, back in all directions, to a crazy place in Time — with Bell-Bottoms, Black Lights, Lava Lamps and L-P Records? I now can totally recall this amazing song, that fabulous album cover, and so many many once-dear things I'd almost forgotten about that particular configuration of stimuli, probably unique, in The Whole Freaking Universe...
Thanks, I've discovered Ambrosia!
Brings me back.
Well-crafted song, everything is so... tight!!!

Always liked this tune but what an awful, abrupt ending.
Saw Ambrosia last night (three original members). Very enjoyable show. I always liked the first album and even the Top 40 love songs have a touch of class that I appreciate more as I get older.

Firefall, yes! Another (slightly) guilty pleasure.
1973... tripping on purple dot, smoking a bone, and eating leftover cold pizza, listening to UMMA.
An enlightening experience - multiple times.

Thank you Bill! One of the most beautiful songs ever written, definitely one of my favorites. This whole album was a landmark. Cool thing to know about this, Alan Parsons Produced this (Dark Side of The Moon too). The only american record Alan Parsons ever produced.
WOW! For a few minutes I was back in my youth and the world looked all shiny with love and potential. Shazam.
Ambrosia sure takes me back to 70s FM. Firefall next? {#Cool}
Wow...I haven't heard this for AGES!  Thanks Bill

Excellent choice.  Very underrated band despite some of the soft rock leanings of the later albums.  The second release 'Somewhere I've Never Travelled' has some good prog rock stuff on there including "Danse With Me, George" a tribute to Chopin as well as a completely overlooked moody song called "We Need you Too" ostensibly a plea to those considering suicide.

Totally agree.  I saw them in 1974 in San Diego as the opening act to Stephen Stills and they were excellent live act, much more of an edge than their albums show.

Great old memories of 8th grade

Wow, blast from the past! Loved this album, but then they kinda went downhill as they say. I found their later albums not as appealing or interesting from a musical standpoint.

Great song, like bumping into a good friend from long ago. Always hated the name "Ambrosia". If The Dan hadn't already taken it, I would have called them "Pretzel Logic".
Time to bring this back for a "Cheesy" guest appearance. I must be holding on because I really liked (and still do like) this song. Bill, put on your NSA hat and see this post (a "one man" petition). {#Wave}

Did Bill really say it was sort of cheesy?   Hummm.

"Yeah, he did. He said that. He said that. He really did." Except for the muy caseoso ending, this is a pretty good pop song.

Maybe ever so slightly cheesy.

Ya think?

Inspired choice! More long-forgotten little gems, please.

LOVE it!
nothin' cheezy about that baby {#Cool}  thanks Bill.

Nice to hear some early Ambrosia. The first 2 albums were good..... then they turned to the dark side.
Great flashback - love it!  {#Bounce}
oh boy....it's fabulous to hear this again.  one of my faves of all time.  Thanks soooo much
I think it's been DECADES since I last heard this song.  Thanks!
OMG, thanks...this is great!
Oh... I always loved this song.
Nice, very nice.
Crazy!
You should add this to the rotation too! (and I like the other as well!)
This is the Ambrosia song you should play, Bill.
