Love the album cover {#Hug}
This sounds like it ought to be movie music for the climactic martial arts showdown of the Tony Manero Saturday Night Dancers vs. evil kung fu chipmunks.

A stunningly beautiful song murdered by computerized bass hammer with ray-gun accompaniment. Swoosh! BoomBoom. Sizzle! Sparkle! BoomBoomBoom. Snap! Crackle! BoomBoomBoomBoomBoomBoom. Pop! Sparkle Sparkle! Boom. Boom. Boom. Draw a line around the corpse of a great song laying dead on the floor beneath Oakenfold's discorave goulash.

Yep. The This Mortal Coil version raises goosepimples, but this raises hackles.

See, I love a bit of Ravey Davey stuff, despite being rather too old to admit it.  Sadly, Oakenfold has murdered this and does not get this Grandad's seal of approval.

I was about to declare myself unable to "approve" this dance version of a song not only dear to me, but which is all about floating, thoughts wandering etc.

Then I read the enthusiastic comment by someone who did *not* know the original song. I realized I'd love this if I just discovered now.

And they chose to use this song, rather than another, which isn't an obvious thing at all.

So I'm giving it a 6, against my first reaction. But not more {#Wink}

You're a generous soul, very generous.
Tasty for a change... Not like RP but nice try!

Haha!  I landed here from PSD too!  Escaping horrid Mumford & Sons song today....  This is so different from the TMC version (which I love) but instead sounds rather like something from the Run Lola Run soundtrack (which I also like) so it's acceptable for filler.

Absolutely !  Oakenfold oughtta be sued for malpractice for abusing this great song by slathering it in that monotonous monotonous monotonous candy-coated candy-coated candy-coated monotonous monotonous computer shell.

PSD brought me here?! Wow!!! this is just screams unexpected AND as eclectic as it gets! I love RP!!!
A little monotonous A little monotonous A little monotonous A little monotonous A little monotonous A little monotonous A little monotonous A little monotonous and repetitious and repetitious and repetitious and repetitious and repetitious and repetitious and repetitious and repetitious and repetitious (repeat) Oh, and does it end or does it just get cut off by the next song? And even if I could dance decently I think I would have worn a groove in the dance floor from being stuck in one place. Sorry if I'm being repetitious - for some reason I'm in that mood. OH!! It's this song :D

Cool! Not only This Mortal Coil, but an Oakenfold twist. Nice selection Bill.
Paul Oakenfold is awesome. Thanks Bill for allowing many different types of music here.
