Meet me on the other side
Meet me on the other side
I'll see you on the other side
See you on the other side

Honey now if I'm honest
I still don't know what love is
Another mirage folds into the haze of time recalled
And now the floodgates cannot hold
All my sorrow all my rage
A teardrop falls on every page

Meet me on the other side
Meet me on the other side

Maybe I oughta mention
It was never my intention
To harm you or your kin
Are you so scared to look within
The ghosts are crawling on our skin
We may race and we may run
We'll not undo what has been done
Or change the moment when it's gone

Meet me on the other side
Meet me on the other side
I'll see you on the other side
I'll see you on the other side

I know it would be outrageous
To come on all courageous
And offer you my hand
To pull you up on to dry land
When all I got is sinking sand
The trick ain't worth the time it buys
I'm sick of hearing my own lies
And love's a raven when it flies

Meet me on the other side
Meet me on the other side
I'll see you on the other side
I'll see you on the other side

Honey now if I'm honest
I still don't know what love is

There are thousands and thousands of songs with the same chord progression. Especially if it is simple song like this. I would bet my hat on that somebody elese played this chord progression before F. Zappa...
Comments like this are why I read the comments! Thank you anonymous listener from 21 years ago! I never would have made that connection... love it!

"Posted 21 years ago by : The chord progression is almost identical to 'Uncle Remus' by Frank Zappa. It's basicly a slow version of Zappa's tune with different words. David will have to deal with his inability to be creative on the other side when he meets Frank.
Seen him live too many times to count and all his covers enhance the originals. Not sure where this falls with respect Zappa, but I'll take it.

Going to give this a 7 rating.
David is kind of hit and miss for me.
This song I like.
Ok, didn\'t they just play this a few minutes ago?
I feel the same way -- and I used to like his stuff. But somewhere I just started disliking it. Now I just plain can\'t stand it.
i hate this guy.
I won a David Gray DVD here on RP last year and I've been a fan of David's ever since. Great songs and performance. Thanks RP.
David Gray is my absolute favorite singer!! I enjoy every song of his and they never seem to grow tired. Thanks for playing him!!
Amazing. David Gray is just.....well.... amazing
Would have been better if it had some type of crescendo....just seemed to stay flat.
okay, I love David Gray's music. but I also love rayraspi's comment. ha ha.

This song gets more annoying the more I hear it (and I hear it too much).
this may be my favorite david gray tune.....however, i agree with some others. too much david gray is, well, too much. his stand-out voice and style could drive someone over the edge if heard too much. that said, i still really like this song a lot.
Hey, I really like this song, and it doesn't seem to wear on me very much at all. YMMV, I suppose.
Cut to hear another from David Gray. I love his voice, but was hearing a bit too much of Sail Away.
