First listen and I like it.  One of those tunes though that on the next listen it could drop down.
I'm just stunned that this guy has 2x the amount of songs represented here than Xavier Rudd...
I can't help but feel like he is spitting on me.  I can actually hear the saliva dripping out of that thing. Perhaps I should invent an "instrument" where you blow in one end and it sounds like a fart, that might be less objectionable.
schweeet.  8 to 9

I really like didgeridoo music, particularly when it is integrated into non-traditional music.  This song was. . .interesting.
This is a great song..
Nice rythm and i love when new Music is blended with folk instruments.. Trip on.!
I'm not sure what to make of this, very innaresting

{#Lol}  What I love about this is the amazing mix of trad sounds with prog rock and a driving rhythm section. Very cool.

really annoying. why do you play such marginal music on here?

Makes me move like bananaman.  {#Bananajam}

This is an example of why I listen to RP ..., variety without going too far.
I like it. Nice groove.
I alternate between really digging it and being annoyed by it.
Oy!  Outback Walkabout Trance Dance!  Walkabout!
So what if it's incredibly repetitious. It's FUN : )
interesting segue

haha.. cool
This song sounds like it was written and performed by frogs.

Not that that's a bad thing.

Catchy tune and something half decent from OZ for once.{#Dancingbanana_2} Ripper!
thanks bill for the nice string of "get back to work, sucka!" music!  {#Whipit} {#Whistle} {#Mrgreen}

Sorry, not digging this one
This would be great in a smaller dose...as it is, it seems like the Outback version of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida

Thought I was flipping through the TV channels at first..."Tonight on Survivor"..."Outback Steakhouse. No rules, just right". j/k...this is alright. I agree that it's a little long and/or repetitive.
Nice groove. A tad long, however. Stiil, a solid 7.
Where's my Foster's Beer ........... I feel like I'm a quart low ..........
Boring...unless maybe you're an Ausi.
It's like an Aboriginal Shaft.
Very nice, do you know what was the first sound that you've heard in your live? Two things, it was the beat of the heart of your mother and the sounds that her stomach made. So this music goes very much in that style. -- I'll be father in summer ;o)
amazing, it's essentially a hollow branch that he's playing. Dig it!

Of course - being Swedish you'd know - Waterloo, la la la, f***** la, la! Pure s*** comes to mind!!
I hate this... I feel like I am listening to the inside of his mouth. It is really off-putting.
I think that this tune sounds very much like "Outback" First I even thought it was "Outback"
If U like Dr Didg, make sure to check out "Outback". He was a member of the group.
Pure shit!
Excellent!
trippy - i like it

Ummmm, I was thinking more along the lines of Outback Steakhouse. You know, didgeridoo and aborigines and all that.

Is it just me, or does the didjeridoo make the most annoying sound EVER?

Okay....whose not tapping at least their foot?
Hey, that was fun, but let's not do it again for a while.
Awww... It ended. **sigh**
Gawd, enough already!
There is something so haunting about the didjeridoo....

If you mean didj or yidaki, first learn how to circular breathe.

I saw this group at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY (2300°). They are better live!
Ohhh, I need this one! Diggin' this with a big ol shovel! *insert diggin' icon here*
Is the Whole CD as Groovin as this any body know?

Is this song EVER going to end??
Do the Didg Dig the Doo
Anybody remember a movie from the 70s early 80s called "The Coca-Cola Kid"? They did a great fake Coke jingle for a campaign in Australia using a Didgerido and other indigenous instruments. It really rocked, sounded a bit like this, and the lyrics were "Don't want to go where there's no Coca-Cola. Life's only fun when you're drinking Coke." A really wicked parody.
Cool!
i want to learn how to play those sounds!!!!
This tune's a bunch of nonsense but I like it.
diggin' th didg...sounds like the soundtrack for an upscale 70's porno at times...but it's got me groovin' at my desk.
+ Backbeat = Awesome !!!
I give it a 7 because I'd like to hear someting else from this album/artist.
in general, I think the didgeridoo is a cool instrument...but until I looked at the playlist, I thought this was just part of the (bad) Phish song that preceded it
Bought this CD a few years ago on impulse, good CD but not a classic or for listening to over a long time. Good on a carousel CD player. 8)

Ditto :)
I enjoy that there is a man out there calling himself "Dr Didg." and rocking out on the didgeriedoo for our enjoyment. This is the sort of thing I think that will only, ever, be played on RP, and in Australia. I tried to play the Didg once...its hard.
This is like Geroge Benson meets the composer of the theme from "The Sporanos". Boogie, then ....
i find myself nodding my head to the groove

Bill will sometimes play a song from "Baka".
Fun!
Good ambience tune not for a in depth listening...but it is likeable...
another "boogie at the desk" song!!

Pez' dear...and just what does Devon, England sound like?...
Er, a little less "sunny" .... cross between Marley and M.Gaye??
Seriously nickname you are really getting annoying. We can read the numbers, and no one cares what you particular rating is when you don't have anything to add to the discussion. And learn about lower case letters why don't you!
joe1 wrote:
I live in Devon!! In that case, I'll give it an '8'!...(haven't heard it yet though!)
Hmmm... based on my visit, I'm not sure this is what Devon "sounds" like. But it's kinda catchy!
Didgeridoo is Australian for kazoo.
To this I say 'meh'. It goes nowhere, and has nothing really interesting going on once it's looped. I'm starving for something interesting, like continuous djembe jamming or even a wicked drum track like in Rusted Root or the Jimi Hendrix Experience. And more variation in the didg would be good too. And I don't like the synthesizer. I like world music, but too much of it sucks. NEXT!
ajudd wrote:
Agreed.. where is this going.. I was beginning to believe they were looping at the end.. I was waiting for the fadeout..
The way these guys work is the didgeridoo player starts a riff, loops it, and the entire band then plays around that riff. I didn't upload this, but maybe I'll upload Under the Influence off this same CD--a little less repetitive, in my book. P.S. Why is it that when I add an emoticon, sometimes it deletes my entire message in the process?
Now, if you like didgeridoo's ... there's this artist, Xavier Rudd ("To Let" is his latest) that you might like. I heard him play with Ani, and this guy was amazing. He plays every instrument himself ... just amazing sounding too. ajudd wrote:

Starts well, but wears out its welcome after a few minutes. A pointless jam is a pointless jam, even with a didgeridoo.
