I am not a huge Jeff Beck fan but this is outstanding!
So much beauty in this song.
RIP to one who touched my and so many souls ..,
One of the most tasteful players in history.
Thank you for playing this William.

I Agree!!  Very well stated!!
Jeez Bill you really know how to make a guy cry.  I've never actually heard this Jeff Beck track before and it just completely gutted me.  Sweet dreams Jeff Beck.
So many great tracks on this album. And truly fresh! After so many years, the guy never ever got stale.
One of the few artists that have put me into mourning at their passing. RIP
RIP Jeff, what a legendary guitarist who influenced many. and will continue to.
RIP Jeff, and thanks for the soundtrack to my life.

No. This doesn't sound like PM.

I don't see how anyone/anything could add to this track, it is as close to perfection as it gets.

Great deep cut Bill !

Not enough Pat Metheny on RP.

EXCELLENT!!!

Well said. Check out the interview on the "Live at Ronny Scott's" DVD; his humility is truly refreshing.
Beautiful! Strongly reminds me of “The Songs of Distant Earth” from Mike Oldfield.
Dang, that's some tasty pickin'.

IMHO, Clapton is a very talented guitarist, Jimmy is a magician...but Jeff is the "artiste"of the 3. NTBM! (Not to be missed)
He's on my own funeral playlist...in several places. 😁

Love that you have a funeral playlist!  I've been working on one the past 10 years.....and hope I can work on it another 30-40 ;-)

You can be in the top hundred or the top thousand, when you're number one it doesn't matter.

This track is a mighty ten✌️
the reverb arpeggios at the end got me to bump it up from a 7 to an 8.
Just AWESOME

I find it pretty easy to tell which Yardbird's songs he was on. They are are the 'interesting' ones.

Ha!

When I glanced at the song title, I thought I read "Superstition" and kept waiting for the searing guitar.

He sounded more like Pat Methaney on this track.
When Beck was composing this track, he should have asked Mike Oldfield to join him.
{#Bananajam}I like Jeff Beck
Kind of a Daniel Lanois vibe going on here.  Very nice.

Durutti right? That's what I went to check for when I heard the guitar.

Sometimes great musicians may go in the same direction; I imagine Jeff Beck and Vini Reilly are familiar with each other's work.
Great!
I was not familiar with this song.  I could've sworn that it was Daniel Lanois at first.
k, sounding Durruti tru, still man its Super cool   : P
Not only does he have the chops of a god, but he has a knack for interesting and, at times, understated melodies and production skills. Does he produce his newer releases himself? I ask because it really seems like his songs are written around, or at least at the same time as, the production itself.

Yes if you do not have a suspencion , you do'nt go anywhere!!
I really liked this song so I bought the CD, I have to say the rest of the album did not remotely resemble this song. But this song, yeah, nice.

A "Godlike" 10 for me.

was not expecting anything like this....

thanks
When I was a kid, J.B. was it!.....nice to see him still trucking...7
I picked up this CD because of this song, after my one listen this is still the standout track.
Beck keeps a rolling.
This time, exquisitely.

A 9 for Mr. Beck.
For me haunting, but not in an eerie way, more for it's exploration of sadness, ending with just the right twinge may-hap a stirring of hope, well spoken Mr. Beck!
Quite possibly my favorite JB song of the last 15 yrs or so...exquisite

This could be a day when he is number one.{#Jump}
Jeff is in the Top 5 rock guitarists of all time.

Say him on recent tour. I have 5 or 6 albums but never really appreciated his skill and style till seeing him live. He plays loud, tons of volume  but the sound he produces is so controlled and clear. Good band. Only one song had vocal accompaniment. It was a great night of instrumental music. He even manage to sneak in his rendition of a Lady Gaga tune with warning to the crowd that it was going to tongue in cheek.

Albatrossish. #8
Well. That was nice.

It's so atmospheric!
I can never get over the mastery of this man  {#Meditate}
what a BRILLIANT guitarist...
I am so bummed I wasn't able to make it to Beck's Pittsburgh concert at the Carnegie Music Hall.  Anyone go? How was it?
This reminds me of Explosions in the Sky.

Excellent song.  First time I've heard it.  Beck always has something cool to offer his listeners.
Nice!
One of the stellar tracks of the last ten years from JB IMHO

Was very surprised to hear this was Jeff Beck.  I don't usually associate such smoothness with him — he seems to go for jagged sounds a lot more often, which doesn't always agree with me.  This is quite beautiful.

Wouldn't have thought Beck either. Damn good. Gotta check this record out

I love this entire CD. Bringing in Imogen Heap to do vocals was stroke of genius.

The first time I heard "Rollin' and Tumblin" I pulled off to the side of the road to listen to it.

You got that right.

I thought Bill Frisel. Nice track though.

Now I'm up for a Wilko Johnson tune!!!

I always find myself going back to his "Guitar Shop" album.  All of his stuff is good but that one resonates with me more than the others.

Can't wait for the new material and the tour. He is at the top of his game again and having fun with the new band. A very talented group.
was this the instrumental guitar music? i'm guessing it was, it really stood out.
This choice makes me wonder where's Daniel Lanois on RP? (but since I already have about everything he's done, that's OK for me)

Where's the NEW stuff from J Beck?

Did you ever hear 'Blow by Blow'? also really good

It is kinda hard to believe that this comes from the same album as "Rollin and Tumblin". Polar opposite songs yet both beautiful in their own manner. Guess it just goes to show what a genius Beck can be.
Beautiful - thanks
Oooohhh — this is like sailing out into calm, slippy, waters under a warm sun and blue-blue sky, having been stuck in a freezing misty, choppy, cross-grained sea for the last 1/2 hour  (an unprecedented sequence of 4s 3s 2s and 1s).  Meh;  at last back into RP-land!

Well, neither artist was in The Faces, but when I first heard mention of a recording artist named "Beck", I thought that Jeff Beck had formed a new band, until I heard "Loser", that is.

another JB stud!

Coming as it does on the end of a fairly hard-rocking album, I always liked the feeling this song gives that Beck still has a keen sense of touch and timing.
This whole album is great. I've listened to it dozens of times.
Kinda Pink Floydy
...kind of reminds me of michael brook...
Jeff Beck, give me space man
