I was born in a crossfire hurricane
And I howled at my mama in the driving rain
But it's alright now in fact it's a gas
And it's alright, hey
I'm Jumping Jack Flash it's a gas gas gas
I was raised by a toothless bearded hag
I was schooled with a strap right across my back
But it's alright now in fact it's a gas
And it's alright, hey
I'm Jumping Jack Flash it's a gas gas gas
But it's alright now in fact it's a gas
And it's alright
I'm Jumping Jack Flash it's a gas gas gas
[...]
But it's alright now in fact it's a gas
It's alright now in fact it's a gas
But it's alright now in fact it's a gas
But it's alright now, but it's alright now
But it's alright

Well, you know that I love my woman
But just sometimes she just don't treat me right
Yeah, I woke up this morning and I looked her in the eye
She said sweet daddy, you got what I want
But you ain't givin' it to me
Oh, and it hurt me deep down into my soul
And I had [...] out of the door
I was [..] my heart [...]
Gonna ever see my baby no more
I went a-walkin' down the street
And I was ashamed to look at anyoone I meet
Ooh, [..] and there she was standing
Leaning up against a lamp post
(Well, tell it, tell it)

I saw her standing on the corner
A yellow ribbon in her hair
All night long my heart was shudder
Look at there, look at there
You're the one, look at there
Youngblood, youngblood, youngblood
Woo, I can't get you out of my mind
And I couldn't sleep, I went on crying
And I saw the risin' of the sun
All night long my heart was crying
You're the one, you're the one
You're the one, you're the one
Youngblood, youngblood, youngblood
Well, I can't get you out of my mind
[...] she looked so tough
I had to follow her all the way home
And when we were there
I met her dad, he said:
You'd better leave my daughter alone
And I couldn't sleep, I went on crying
And I saw the risin' of the sun
All night long my heart was crying
You're the one, you're the one
You are the one, you're the one
Youngblood, youngblood, youngblood
Woo, I can't get enough of your love
(Youngblood)
Woo, you're breaking my heart in two
(Youngblood, youngblood, youngblood)

Ooh, and I looked at that 19 year old girl
Right in the eye.
And I said you look so sweet to me darlin'
But there's one thing I got to tell you.
You know, I've got me a fine old lady
Lying back there in that bedroom at home
And I think I got to get hack to her.
Ooh, you ain't interested in my, she said.
[...] walkin' home down the street, back to my pet
And I crawled and I snugged and I crawled back in the bedroom
My baby looked at me with her great big blue bedroom eyes
And she said:
Wooh, dad where have you been all night long?
Yet I know I told you to get away from me
I told you to leave me alone
Wooh, but I had a chain in your heart
And I've been needin' you all night long
[...] needin' the good thing
I ain't had none of the good thing
Yeah and I looked at my baby and I said
Baby, I said, what is it that I've got that you want, yeah?
She looked at me and she said, real slow, real soft, real sweet
She said this right here:

Yeah, it's alright now, in fact it's a gas
Well, it's alright now, in fact it's a gas
But, it's alright now, in fact it's a gas
It's alright, it's alright now

Yeah, now ev'rybody's got a young lady at home that they love
But sometimes the things, they just don't go right
But I want to tell you one thing, and it's for sure
You treat your woman like you treat yourself
Ev'rything is gonna be alright
Yeah it's gonna be alright now.

There is one lady singing back-up that is just wailing, especially on Jumpin' Jack.
Wailin' in a good way.

She's feelin' that GAS!
Good Lord,

Russell just slays this

More Leon and more often please, William. He'd be a nice substitute for many a Radiohead song.  Also, "Wah Wah" from this album would be good to hear on RP.

I really admire Leon Russell's music for being loud, loose and sloppy.
Leon always struck me as someone who no one thought should ever be a singer, but he decided to be one anyway and we are all the better for it.
I still feel sorry for that back-up singer who says "you're the one" in the first verse when she's sposed to say "looky there". Other than that, great version of these songs. Who sings the bridge in the Youngblood section?

But wait! I just listened to this same song on YouTube and I hear "looky there" instead! How can this be?
Where is my dancing banana when I need it.
Almost all the songs on this album are SUPERB!!   Leon is in perfect spirit on this song.  Thanks for playing this one.  Consider playing us more songs from this wonderful concert.  Go Leon!!
Nice covers, but nowhere near as good as the originals.  (<—-  Joke.)
Catchy beat. Nice voice. I like the drums.
One of my all time favorite songs. My high school girlfriend's last name was Youngblood, so it really has a special place in my heart!!!
Love me Leon.
Y'all need to check out Johnny Winter's version. Kick ass.
This Young Blood version however is bad ass.
This guy is a genius. You young folks gotta give him a few listens. He seemed like a freak in the 60s (at least to me,  I admit it). Let your freak flag fly, and give him a shot.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leon_Russell#1950s.2F1960s

So I click on itunes and get an error message.  Is it possible to download this version?
What a classic. These guys rock it out. More selections from the classic Concert for Bangaladesh please!
This is such a fantastic performance by Leon and his band. I'm always astonished to remember that he was criticized at the time for "stealing the limelight" when the focus of the concert was supposed to be the starving people of Bangladesh. Yes, and it's purpose also was to raise money for them. The proliferation of "Aid" concerts since this first one has shown that showmanship and charity can go together. RIP Leon and thank you.
I never heard of leon russell until i listened him here in radioparadise, i think that like is with him are so many others 'vangogh´s' who never had the properly recognition in life, just sayin´
I Love Leon!
His version of this, and Johnny Winter's are both KICKASS  and his version of YOUNGBLOOD?!?
Leons awesome
1st time in 13 YEARS!

So long, Leon.  It's been a GAS!
Can I get an AMEN!!
Leon always knew how to ROCK ON!! :D
The *ONLY* time I *EVER* liked this song was when it was being sung along with, by Whoopie Goldburg, in the movie Jumping Jack Flash... for as she said in the movie during her attempt to figure out \"the key\".. MIC MIC MIC!!! MAKE SOME F*ing SENSE! Slurred and sloppy, an irritating voice, and repeatative strings, any one can be over looked.. but all three together deserves a *special* reward!
Haven\'t heard this one by Leon for close to 30 years. Leon put on one hell of a show in his day. Thanks Bill!! :)
Leon Russell was the first concert I ever attended. A great performer. Thanks Bill.
Oh man, how excellent to hear this again! It\'s from the fantastic-incredible-mind-blowing Concert for Bangaladesh album, which I somehow traded away in 1976 for four mediocre disks. (What was I thinking?)
