I learned a lot about him on The PBS documentary by Ken Burns! He had a rough but brief life.  But, he did make a lot of great music!  May he rest in peace!

…for a traditional »American thing« country song a solid 7 doesn't seem to be such a bad rating at a first glance. Not to mention that RP gets more and more international (cheers from Hamburg / Germany)

However - if I don't like a music genre as a whole - let's say C&W - I simply don't vote for those songs, at least to not offend the respective enthusiasts and artists… it's so easy.

 This track has some comedic gold in the comments.  From a quick looksee, here's my favorite line.  I'm anticipating some BillG comments about the comments coming soon. 

As for the song, I rate a 7 - I'm not into modern C&W - the older stuff isn't bad, and come on now, 1952...that's some early shit there.  Give him his props for doing something different than others were doing...he was a pioneer for sure.

In the early 1980s, I was lucky to get a job slashing seismic exploration lines in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  I recall that Foreigner was very popular in camp.  Somebody would blast it out so you could hear it everywhere.
