First few moments of the song I thought this was a Beatles song I had somehow missed......Bee Gee's may have gotten a bad rap being labled as a "disco band" but they were incredibly gifted musicians

It always amazes me when I read comments where people have “never heard” this song or that song, despite the song being a worldwide Top Ten at the time. When this song was out, it seemed to be on the radio every 5 minutes.

I've always thought the production/arrangement on this one made it a pretty 'great' little pop song. The horns, orchestration, banging piano...
Different for its time.

This is from well before their disco era; they had a number of hits in the late 1960s and early '70s before going into the dance/disco realm around 1975 or so.  They were considered part of the "British Invasion" of the early '60s - though by way of Australia in their case.

Totally agree with the Odessa album, I was a little girl when that came out, and started to collect the Bee Gee albums, but whoops.... Saturday Night Fever came and everyone liked the Bee Gees lol..... I had to keep quiet that I really liked them, but everyone I knew did not bother with their earlier stuff which is what got me onto them..... Now, in my 50s, I can sure appreciate and openly now too lol....

The Bee Gees were one of my fave groups in the 60's - NY Mining Disaster, I Started A Joke (which was probably a premonition of their future Disco days which made them ultra-famous), I've Got To Get A Message To You etc.

ODESSA is still one of my go-to albums for the BGs

Wow...Bee Gees on RP!?
This sounds like some very early material of theirs, as in "pre-disco".  That's a definite plus to hear something unique from a famous pop band like the Bee Gees.

GREATLY APPRECIATED BILL!!! Really good song from the day, and from a band that gets too little respect. Of the VH1 specials someone mentioned.. I too didn\'t know just how much of an influence they had until one of them.. and to see that even after *disco was dead* they still helped behind the scenes and collaborated on some pop hits that they would have been scorned for by the new rock-N-rollers of the day ... Very Cool! .... and Yes, I did buy the Sgt Peppers\' movie because it was a nicely contemporary take on the Beetles work ... cool!
