As I set down these notes on paper,
I'm obsessed by the thought that I might be the last living man on earth.
2X2L calling CQ...
2X2L calling CQ...
2X2L calling CQ... New York
Isn't there anyone on the air?
Isn't there anyone on the air?
Isn't there anyone?
Inside this leaking submarine
The hull is closing in
The water is above my ankles
Now that I still can't get you off of my
I don't think that we can pull this one off
We shall see, time will tell
What is time and why does it
Taste like salt water inside of my mouth?
Someday I will sail again,
To a distant shore, far away.
I will sail again,
To a distant shore, far away...
If the line snaps,
There's no air,
Will you hold me?
If I'm asleep,
Will you wake me?
If this rises,
We hit the waves,
Will you dive back down?
Someday, I will sail again,
To a distant shore, far away.
I will sail again,
To a distant shore far away.
High hope
Something's tugging on my leg
And there it goes
Shallow water
Must be on the horizon
But still too
Far to go
Spilling blood so fast
I can't keep up much more
Sorry, sorry,
Can't go no more.
Sorry, sorry,
Can't go no more.
Sorry, sorry,
Can't go far away.
Sorry, sorry,
Can't go no more.
Sorry, sorry,
Can't go no more.
(2X2L calling CQ...)
Sorry, Sorry,
Can't go far away.
(2X2L calling CQ . . .)
Sorry, sorry,
Can't go no more.
(2X2L calling CQ . . . New York)
Sorry, sorry,
Can't go no more.
(Isn't there anyone on the air?)
Sorry, sorry,
Can't go no more
(Isn't there anyone on the air?
Isn't there anyone?)
Sorry, sorry,
Can't go no more.
Sorry, sorry,
Can't go no more.
Sorry, sorry,
Can't go no more.

Wow... I just saw a trailer for an upcoming Will Smith movie. Suspiciously similar to the opening to this song. Hopefully the film won't be this boring.

That opening is from the legendary 1938 Mercury Theater On The Air production of War of the Worlds.

one of my pinback's favorite..the last hour is awesome tho

This is like Low on speed.
I've heard better from Pinback, this is almost putting me to sleep. 4

Yeah, Pinback always depresses me. I haven't heard them in years - somehow I've managed to avoid them here. I don't feel quite the same overwhelming "down" hearing this that I used to, but still, there's a definite feeling these guys evoke, whatever their skill. {#Sad}
Yes! Pinback is awesome, super chill laid-back rock. Perfect for RP. This is my fave of theirs too.

Sounds like the Eels, after getting kicked in the gonads

Who was kicked: you or The Eels?  Nice groove, this song.  I guess if one wants up-tempo, happy music, this isn't for them.  Maybe those folks should watch The Wiggles or something.

This band is definitely an acquired taste and can certainly see why some might not like them. For some reason, I have always taken a shining to them!{#Meditate}

Sounds like the Eels, after getting kicked in the gonads
So blah.... Sooo blah..... Sooo blah..

Try Summer In Abaddon or Autumn of the Seraphs; much there really worth listening to! The song "Afk" on SIA is absolutely a TRIPPING ROCKER!

I say is 7!

Kinda creepy...not the music, but the idea. To wake up and be the only person left on earth.... Totally creepy.
There've been a number of movies, books, etc. about this idea. Must have been a good 10% of all Twilight Zone episodes.
I like the sample from War of the Worlds at the beginning. The rest of it doesn't do much for me.

Seems appropriate for 1:20AM EST. Kinda mellow... I like it.

For some reason it reminds ME of Martians landing in New Jersey and laying waste to everything in their path as they approach the Hudson River. Must be a subliminal thing.
They left it in kind of a swampy, smelly, chemically burned state. Maybe they'll comeback later and finish the job.

It actually sounds similar, if more slow-paced, to the Pixies tune "Happening" about an alien ship landing in the desert in the Southwest. I'm still pissed my upload of "Prog" got spiked.
No, they're just all "borrowing" from Orson Welles' "War of the Worlds" broadcast....
3 of my favorite bands in a row!!!!!! lovin it
and it reminds ME of elliot smith.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Not that I didn't already feel good because it's Friday, but THAT is freakin' hilarious, and very well written! And I like this song :-)

Hmm...nice little laid back kinda tune. For some reason it reminds me of sitting in my backyard in Torrance, CA, in the late afternoons when the sun was going down and the breeze would be coming in off the Pacific. Just right... 8)

Wow...that sounds wonderful! This IS some nice stuff...it relaxed me!
cool. these guys were out on tour with Lake Trout recently. how 'bout playing both bands back-to-back?
It's a shame this hasn't been played in over six months. These guys make really creative, catchy, layered songs, and they put on a great live show. Looks like the average ranking is 7.7, that's not too shabby - does a song have to be more than very good to get some rotation?
