I’ve always really liked this guy. Just hitting an acoustic hard and a big Irish storytelling voice really does it for me. And he’s great live, intimate and powerful

Ah, I knew I remembered that voice. Many, many years ago, I borrowed a CD from my local library that I almost wore out! It was a Windham Hill Christmas Sampler called "A Celtic Season", and Luka Bloom's "Ciara" was one of the best tracks.

Plenty of live versions on YouTube, but the version from that album was this one: Luka Bloom - Ciara

I think you are right and that your reasoning may be applied to a lot of artists played by RP, some ratings are culturally biased.

A tad less less gloomy and with a bit more vocal variety than Steve Knightley who I like but do find that a little goes a long way! I'd have to see if I can manage an album of his - with Show Of Hands they pall a bit with the later stuff.

Not what I said.  Y'all rate it too low.  I'm pumping it to an 8. He's an artist singer songwriter.  He's got a voice, lyrics, and one guitar.  Period.  And he travels an evocative road of feeling.  You PSDers try doing that.

I can't believe that this song was written and sung by Luka Bloom.

Listen to his album "Tribe" instead. It's beautiful and one of my all-time favourite albums!

I've also seen him twice on solo tour – he played in a little church packed with people and everybody was deeply awed by the intricate music.

I think much of the comments are a bit harsh. Here's my main issue with this song - it sounds like it belongs on Christian radio with the lyrics replaced with worship lyrics.

Nice lyric and vocalist as well. Not all that many male rock/pop/folk vocalists use the lower part of their range, his is nice and rich. Makes me want to cop a hug from a bass baritone.
