Glad to see you like this. Since you do, I highly recommend investigating the various incarnations of this band and its members. It all started as 'Uncle Tupelo', then the band split into 'Wilco' and 'Son Volt'. Now Jay Farrar is doin' his own thing, and Jeff Tweedy has another project too: the name escapes me. If you like this, you'll probably like the whole gamut. I would start with 'Uncle Tupelo': there's plenty of material there... c.

This album took a long while to grow on me. Now, I listen to it regularly. Nothing will ever top "Trace" but this is a good solo record.

This song reminds me of hitch hiking in my youth. Waiting, wanting, waiting, believing, not believing. Pissed, not wanting, and finally relief. Son Volt's not done. They "reformed" last year (basially a whole new band besides Jay) and cut a new record which is In Stores Now. I'm still working through it, there's definitely some good stuff on there but I can't yet say whether or not it's as good as the three albums he did with the original members.

This song snuck up on me when I wasn't listening. So I downloaded it and started listening to it, and although I still can't hear whatever it was that thought I heard when I wasn't quite paying attention, I stopped trying to listen so hard, and I started liking the song, a LOT. Go figure...
