Keeping a brave face
In circumstances is impossible
Cannot describe
So many
Decisions
It's impossible
To know which is
The proper order
The best position
To be in
take advantage
or so it seems
the way it goes

Sandman comes (it's tragic)
Two to one (laid down on your side)
In the dark (Too easy)
Dark reflections (you know that you know)
In my head (You're soaking wet)
In my bed (You talk too much)
Again (It's not necessary)

Sandman goes (Before the ice melts)
Two in tow (I just want to say)
Wet and dumb (this packet's yours)
Three's the number (Don't ask for more)
Coming down (Cos somewhere along the line)
Coming down again (I've forgotten already)

Ah.. The beautiful Justine.
Yeah, I still think this needs to be re-uploaded
I think this song need to be re-uploaded again from a better source. I just listened to this on YouTube music and it sounds so much better. The version playing on RP sounds like it has very low bitrate WMA noise.
Possible influence for Elbow's 'Fly Boy Blue?'
Love everything about this album!

Holy crap, that's who Wet Leg reminds me of.
Such a great album!  Love RP...

I heard somewhere long ago, "An artist has years and years to write their first album, they have about one year to write their second."

Not 2 Good
OMG - this is a fantastic album

Remember when you didn't have to wait for nostalgia to show up? Those were the days...

This song is now  25 years old, so yes I believe I can be nostalgic for the 90s!
They do a killer version of Da Da Da
Their Menace CD was far superior

Ok, so it’s not just me that noticed the poor audio quality here. For a minute I thought the RP app had a bug.

Sounds ok now - has the rubber band been replaced?
Actually I guess the comment is aimed at the vocal effect.
Yes, yes, yes.
Soundtrack for Trainspotting of course, but I just love that song. Kind of disenchanted and yet not quite ready to accept whatever it was that's causing the disenchantment. Thanks Bill :-)
I hadn't heard this before and at first I thought it sounded like Elbow with a female vocalist.

Everyone in my Kainga loves this.
Looks like I'm all alone in detesting this....
The two Trainspotting CDs helped broaden my musical tastes. This song is a case-in-point.

that made me laugh...Oh, Time! you bitter master,  you arrow of life. How I need and hate you for looking at others...skipping past me.
Elastica! yay! gotta love RP.

Me too - I wore this disc out in college.

I bet we could get "Never There" or "Waking Up" on RP.

Well I was a teen in the 90's and now I'm in my 30's and feeling nostalgic... Really it's no different than people in the 70's being nostalgic for the late 50/early 60's (Happy Days/American Grafiti anyone)...

Such a great record. Not a best cut by far.

I tried that with "Connection" and "Stutter", but got sorried.

yeah, me too!

{#Surprised}

I somehow missed this band.  They're pretty good.

It was once said of these guys:  "They belt out a good tune, and don't take up much of your time doing it!"  {#Biggrin}

Exactly!

Wow... used to love this song and album.  Still do.

Great, obscure album track!  Hearing songs like this is the reason I love RP. {#Heartkiss}

Bring on 90s nostalgia! It will be the best nostalgia ever.
I like the riff, and then they start singing...

No. Push the finger in further.
Not many songs make me want to shout "you kids turn off that infernal racket!!!" but this is one of them.
I like it; kinda Ditty-Boppish but with an angry grundgy angsty edge to it... Hard to top NY's Out on the Weekend, but nice -- OH and is that FF coming in? Yeehah! Laters, y 'all!

Right. You come across the Female ego trips. BTW, cool followup to Neil Young. Yeah it's kind of a 3, but right after Out On the Weeken, it is pretty good. Nice choice, Bill.

YES!
Trainspotting flashback
Man, that really was cool. Short, simple, neat.
I remember cruising around Buckhead in Atlanta to this back in '95. "Let's go to the Cue Room!" "No, Nava!" "No, Lulu's Bait Shack!"

did gorillaz sample part of this song for their track 'kids with guns' on the demon days album?
when this started playing, i thought it was a remix of "kids with guns" slowed down. interesting that it's the same riff in there. i don't think it's a sample, per se. more like the sort of situation that existed with the stones' spec-crap-ular whiny ballad "anybody seen my baby" and k.d. lang's equally whiny "constant craving". except in this case both songs are great.
There are better elastica songs... can we get some more?
I love this album. Rock on.

punchy

They might have been a one hit wonder to the radio community. But they actually were a one album wonder to the alt rock world. This whole album is very very good...

Well, at least you are open about your oafishness.
Sorry
Not their best, but a nice blast from the past.

reminds me of that Fastball song that was wallpapered all over the radio a bunch of summers ago...
This song reminds me trainspotting, but I can't remember where in the film it's played...
Roto wrote:

Oh yeah! I remember her from Family Ties...oh. Nevermind. Elastica is consistent in one way...ear-pleasing tunes. Quite likeable.
Tom Tom Club?
I like Joan Jett and all... but I'm not so sure about that. lily34 wrote:

Good rememberances of movie Trainspotting, too... (remember ? When Ewan McGregor was still an earthling ;))
vocal range of a potato
I love Elastica. :)
There followup album Menace is good too. Different but not too much. still energetic and punky. Considering their absence & I believe a small heroin problem, the band still rocks. Look forward to more.
A fitting reminder of when 90s "alternative" was actually fun, listenable.
Don't know if I'd call the song 'brilliant'. It's catchy but decidedly pop-oriented. Fun to listen to but lightweight.
This song is brilliant... More Elastica!!!!
I haven't listened to Elastica in years. Thanks for the memories. :o

Oh now that\'s a treat. Just when I think I\'m getting a handle on the playlist, something like this comes up. I agree it is a great album too.
WOW Elastica! They\'re my second favorite band that I love but everyone looks at me funny when I mention their name (the other being That Dog). Nice choice, Bill. A damn fine song from one of my absolute favorite albums of the 90\'s (and on the Trainspotting soundtrack too).
