Young girl in the market, music to the men
When the men leave her eyes are red
When her eyes are closed again
She sees the dark market of above

And she sings
They say the most horrible things
But I hear violins

When I close my eyes
I am at the center of the sun
And I cannot be hurt
By anything this wicked world has done

Young boy in the market follows all the men
When the men leave he's out of his head
When his eyes are closed again
He sees the dark market of above

And he sings
They break the most beautiful things
But I hear violins

When I close my eyes
I am at the center of the sun
And I cannot be hurt
By anything this wicked world has done

I look into your eyes
And I am at the center of the sun
And I cannot be hurt
By anything this wicked world has done

Center of the sun

Young boy in the market
Sees the girl alone and asks her
"Have you lost your way home?", she sings
"You say the most beautiful things, just like my violins"

I look into your eyes
I am at the center of the sun
And I cannot be hurt
By anything this wicked world has done

When I close my eyes
I am at the center of the sun
And I cannot be hurt
By anything this wicked world has done

'Cause I hear violins
I hear violins
I hear violins
I hear violins

Center of the sun

I hear violins

Poe's voice melts my heart 😍. It goes beautifully well with this electronica.
Check out this music video, set to a 9-minute chill-out version of this song:

Stunning visuals.

MORE Conjure One please! Add Tina Dico to your playlist too... she was featured by them and a number of other bands. Voice like buttah.
Turning up my Poe...

I love finding new electro bands on RP. There are really high-quality concerts on YouTube of most of them, like Schiller and Afro Celt SS.
As beautiful as her voice!

I was going to post a comment about how sexy Poe's voice is, but thought I'd first see what others had posted...

Sheesh.  Take a number.
I knew that voice. {#Lol}

Yep, same here. It just melts my heart and gives me goose-pimples. She could sing a takeaway pizza menu and I'd wet myself with excitement. 9 from the infatuated Nottingham jury {#Hearteyes}
What a great collaboration!  Poe's voice is so sultry, just plain sexeh

Easily an all time favourite.  Solid 9

I posted this comment on another Poe song, but it bears repeating:

Why oh why have you not released a new album yet, Poe?

Pedantic.
Sounds like Linkin Pawk till the vocals start

I think it's a little muddled because of the production mix.  It's hard to understand the lyrics.  Maybe my amp & speakers?  But, then again...  Nah, I think it's the mix.  My speakers work pretty well for most everything else.

Playing this a little louder than usual—noticing how nice some of the harmonies really are. Cool.

And again.  Totally dreamy!

I hear violence....{#Lol}

This song is way overplayed, people.
The highlights of the album in my opinion are all the vocal tracks... the instrumentals seem to meander too much.  But you have two songs by Poe, two by Sinead O'Connor, and two by a singer I'd never heard of before (Marie-Claire D'Ubaldo) which were great too.  Several standout vocal performances.  I'd recommend it, but its not a homerun (not another Zero 7 or Air for instance).

This is another one of those "only on RP" tracks that I've never heard anywhere else, but will recognize in several years..."Oh, yeah! I used to listen to that on the radio..."

Sounds like a bank for sorcerers... Liking this tune. May have to dig deeper into this group.
Poe is a great find, and Conjure One has been a treat as well - I like the tracks with Sinéad O'Connor.
I first heard this song on RP and since then have purchased 2 of Poe's albums and both of the Conjure One albums. It was a great find!
Poe seems to be on heavy rotation right now. Fortunately, I like her! Wish she had some new material, though.

Good song but played a wee bit too often, perhaps?

Love the lyrics. Love the vocals (thought it might be Chrissie Hynde before I looked). I'm not crazy about how heavy-handed the strings get during this one, though.
I just got to work and haven't had any coffee and thought this was Madonna. I'll listen again after a stiff jolt of java
It's time for a new POE album.
Crap! Another one of my favorite songs! Me bladder canna take much more o' this, Captain!

And here I was hoping your quest would end soon. I myself would prefer to hear repeats of good segues than get no planned segues at all, which is why I listen. Why do you listen, if the repeated segues bother you so much? Are you prepare to move to Paradise and fill in for Bill when he has to do things like...umm...sleep, and stuff? AO
luvin it - very powerful composition, vocals too :D

I dig Conjure One and hadn't heard them before RP (OK, so I live in the middle of nowhere). Downloaded one of their CDs and have played it out, so I like hearing other songs by them, like this one.

Good grief... I can't believe the range of comments here. Just sit back, close your eyes, and enjoy the music. This is a great driving album. Rhys knows know to complement the female voice wonderfully. To those who think that this is just another carbon copy of Delerium: well.... yeah, that's because it IS Delerium. Rhys Fulber is half of the two guys who make up Delerium. Just take a deep breath and exhale slowly.
OK, it's not that bad. 3

See, the thing is...most regular RP listeners know and understand that there are reused playlists and repeated segues sometimes. Bill can't be "on-air" all the time so certainly some of the programming is pre-determined. If Bill finds a good segue and gets good feedback on it, I think it's perfectly reasonable to use it again from time to time. Usually when I see a comment about a repeated segue, I smack my head (DOH!) and think "Well...looks like we've got another newbie!" So I'll speak for myself (and others can chime in if they want to) in saying that I kinda wish that quest of yours would end.

Are you insinuating that those who enjoy electronica are less intelligent and/or intellectual?
This song is used for the background in a Warren Miller film ("Journey" I think?) while a base jumper leaps from the Eiger and soars a record 48 seconds. Very cool - check it out.

I love this one, and it's going in my wish list pronto. How else would I have known about it, were it not for RP? Thank you yet again.
