As he fired up the drum machine
He stole a glance at the empty seats
He took a minute to retune his guitar
As the hour grew late

I wanna send this out to Richie Vey
In his thrift-store corner of the world
His soul is my cheap laugh
As the hour grows late

Have always loved the compositions and vocals from these guys
Would love to hear "False Alarm" from this album - an all time fav of mine.

Just got a new pair of studio monitor headphones to listen to RP on 192k via the Octoshape feed. I'm hearing a distinct hissing in the background of this particular song which isn't present on some of my previously ripped MP3s. Anyone else getting this on this particular song or is it something in my current setup?

This appears to be an analog recording -- or maybe someone just used a noisy preamp or direct box.. The hiss is part of the mix.
Haven't heard YLT on RP before! What a treat. Wonderful, eclectic band. This tune is beautifully hypnotic.
The pride of Hoboken (outside of Sinatra). Nice guitar work.
Sounds like Roger Waters...  not bad.

cool ambience...  dig it...

One person's ambience is another's sedative {#Sleep}. There's a fine line between elegaic and narcoleptic, and this song's on the wrong side of it for me. Away off to iTunes for 5 minutes to cop some AfroCelts then back to RP with the hope of something a bit zippier on the playlist.

I have to admit I gave up on OS for now.  I suggest the 128k iTunes feed.  sorry

By the way, which one's Pink?

They need a breathy sax solo in there...{#Cool}

By the way, which one's Pink?
More Tengo por favor!  Autumn Sweater, Don't have to be....
I would like to hang out with these guys and Bob Ross the painter How relaxed would you be? Ohhhhhhh my bones are jello
I like some Yo La Tengo songs from their albums, but I saw them live and absolutely hated it. The last twenty minutes (or what felt like it) was the guitarist making horrible noises with his guitar.
Thanks for the beanbag overload. I'll check my psychotherapist tomorrow.
pretty....nice imagery ~ "this thrift-store corner of the world"...love endures
I just minutes ago uploaded "Beanbag Chair" from I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass. When it comes up in the LRC, give a listen.

For a moment I thought this was Tom Petty's new style. Love the voice. Very happy with this song.
Especially when the phrase "thrift store corner of the world" is sung.

Very nice. Perfect follow up to the Jayhawks.
